I'm 56 years old, mother of three daughters, and grandmother of eight grandkids. My experience in the kitchen really began to bloom in the last 3 years. It's no longer a chore. I'm a foodie full blowen
My favorite things to cook
Cajun, italian, stews, I am most intrested in canning and preserving because I am also a new gardner.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My potato salad is my girl's favorite, but I love my Mom's plum baby food cake. It is to dye for.
My cooking triumphs
I make a really good from scratch stew. I also can a pickled okra that is better than any you can get in the store.
My cooking tragedies
There are so-o-o-o- many, but the worst was the time I made cornbread and used baking soda rather than baking powder. I created a doorstop that even birds wouldn't eat. (I know because I put it out for them. All I got were a lot of dirty looks from sparrows) I alsodevoloped a process for turning a chicken into vulcanized rubber with b-b-que sauce on top.
