About this Cook
I am married with two boys, 14 and 10. I teach playschool, almost full time. My family and I love to travel, and have been lucky to go see some amazing places.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking and ethinic recipes with some spice. We are pretty adventurous eaters, so it's fun to experiment.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We always make lots of cookies at Christmas. We all bake together, we each have our favorites, so that's what we start with. For St. Patrick's Day, we make Irish Potato Candy and share with everyone at school and our neighbors.
My cooking triumphs
I love having dinner parties with friends. My husband and I make it all from appetizers to wine! We usually pick a theme, like Greek Night, or Feista Party, so everthing builds around the theme. It's such a fun night! I also like using phyllo. It's so versatile and looks great. It's not as hard to use as I first thought and now I use it a lot!
My cooking tragedies
I made buns once that were horrible. I don't know if I used yeast that was too old, or maybe I kneeded it too much, but whatever I did, the buns turned out like hockey pucks! Bad.

Irish Potato Candy
My two boys and I make this every year for St. Pat's Day to share at their school. It's a HUGE hit. I've learned to send along copies of the recipe because everyone wants it! They are so good, but watch out, they are addicting!

Korean BBQ Beef (Pul-Kogi)
This recipe was a hit! Even the child who doesn't like meat asked for seconds. We only had time to marinate the meat for 2 hours and that was fine. We cooked it using the bbq, which worked great. It was delicious, we'll be making it again soon. Thanks for the recipe.
