Oatmeal Raisin Cookies IV

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
Love love love these! These were such a hit that I baked them 3 times in a week! When I ran out of raisins so used dried cranberries...didn't have pecans around so I used walnuts instead. I used others' advice and added 1/2 tsp of salt to bring all the flavors together. DELICIOUS!!!

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies IV

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
These cookies are amazing! At first I was hesitant to use the recipe since it doesn't call for brown sugar. I'm so glad that I gave it a try because these are some of the best cookies I've ever made. Thanks for the recipe!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2008
Yum! These brownies are delicious! At first I was hesitant to make the frosting so I put semisweet chocolate chips on top of the batter while it baked. Halfway through baking, I changed my mind and decided to make the frosting. I made half of what the recipe calls for and only used 1/4 c confectioner's sugar...I also added a tiny splash of milk. I frosted the brownies while they were still warm, allowing the chocolate chips to melt into the frosting. They came out PERFECT! This recipe is definitely a keeper.

Rosemary Roasted Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2007
This was my first time ever making a turkey and it was a success! Everyone RAVED about it. I brined the turkey overnight using others' suggestion (1 c OJ, 1 c lemon juice, and for every gallon of cold water needed to cover the bird, add 1 c brown sugar and 1 c kosher salt...I threw in a few sprigs of rosemary and thyme). After removing the turkey from the brine, I made sure to pat it dry. I also added about 1/4 cup melted butter to the olive oil mix. I threw in 1 onion (quartered) and 1 orange (also quartered) into the cavity while it cooked. When the turkey was done, I stuffed it with the Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry stuffing from the website. DELICIOUS!

These cupcakes are great. The only thing I did different was add 3-4 drops vanilla extract to the cream cheese mix. YUM!

Cream of Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2007
Everyone loved this soup! I used half-and-half instead of heavy cream and added a few more dashes of ground ginger and cinnamon. I didn't make the croutons, so we topped the soup with saltine crackers instead. YUM!

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2006
I took someone's advice and halfed the sugar and also halfed the oil. I've made this salad about 3 times now and my one word to describe it is AMAAAAAAAAAAZING!! I can't wait for my boyfriend's family to try it at their BBQ later today! =)

This is a great recipe! Very quick and simple to make. I used an 8x8 inch baking dish and as someone suggested, baked it at 325 deg for about 35 min. This was my first time making blondies and it sure won't be my last. YUM!

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2006
I have but one word for these cookies....AMAZING!!! I couldn't believe how delicious they turned out. I rolled some of the balls into crushed almonds before using the cap of my mascara (I made sure it was clean) to make thumbprints. They looked great! To top them off, I sprinked some crushed almonds on the raspberry center. I will definitely make these again!

Banana Muffins II

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2006
These muffins were good but not the best. I used unsweetened applesauce in place of the butter. My parents loved them but for some reason I felt it was lacking the umpf to be rated the best.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2006
These cookies were great! My best friend said they were the best she's ever had. I'm only going to give it 4 stars though because they seemed to crumble apart too easily. But other than that, they were delicious!

Extreme Banana Nut Bread 'EBNB'

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2006
This BNB is truly amazing but talk about sugar-bomb!! As others have said, you really can only have so much of it. I halfed the recipe and since I couldn't find my 9x13in loaf pan, I made 8 mini loaves with half the recipe. I took others' advice by using half white/half brown sugar, added 1 tsp vanilla extract and pecans instead of walnuts. I sprinkled some cooking oats on top before baking to make them look pretty. I baked the mini loaves at 325 deg for 35 min. So moist and sweet, it was definitely a winner at my household!

Grandmother's Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2006
These cookies are amazing! My parents and boyfriend absolutely LOVE them. Since I didn't have butter-flavored shortening, I used regular butter. My only regret is halfing the recipe because they're almost gone! I'm going to bake some more now. :)

Amaretto Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2006
I've probably baked this cake about a dozen times and it never fails to be a success!! I've learned though, that it is better to pour the glaze into the poked holes after the cake has almost cooled completely, rather than while it's still warm to prevent it from breaking apart when slicing. This is by-far the BEST cake that I've ever baked and I enjoy eating it everytime!! Thanks Shawn!
