Tilapia with Tomatoes, Black Olives and Corn

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly but my tilapia cooked in much less time, and the sauce came out very runny. But overall, a good and quick seafood recipe.

Skillet Ham, Cabbage and Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
This was a very heavy, hearty but yummy recipe. Based on others' reviews, I used chicken broth instead of water, and Polish kielbasa instead of ham. (I sauteed the kielbasa with the potatoes and onions in the very beginning before adding the cabbage.) Thanks Priscilla for a good "soul food" recipe :)

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
YUM YUM YUM!! This recipe is AWESOME! The chicken is very tender & juicy and the sauce is amazing! It goes well over rice or pasta. I made only two changes: I added about 1/3 - 1/2 cup of red wine and about 1 lb sliced fresh mushrooms to the crockpot in the beginning. Also - cook times will vary depending on the size and brand of your crockpot . . .mine cooks 4 servings in only 3 hours (on low!). So just watch out and keep an eye on it so you don't overcook the chicken. :)

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2008
Based on others' reviews, I covered the bottom of the crockpot with sliced potatoes, onions, mushrooms, and a few cloves of garlic. I tripled the sauce, used chicken broth instead of water, and also added a little white wine. Watch the cook time though! I cooked mine on LO for 3 hours. . . . the chicken seemed a little overdone while the potatoes were still a bit hard. Maybe next time I will skip browning the chicken and just put it right in the pot, so I can leave it on LO for longer so the chicken and potatoes get done at the same time.

Angel's Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly but I felt my dish came out very bland. Also the mozz cheese bunched up so I had random gooey gobs of cheese on top of the dish instead of an even spread. I will try this again and add some more spices, and also use grated Parmesean cheese instead.

Greek Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2008
Since some of the other reviewers said the dish was too dry, I added a can of diced tomatoes and as well as some marinade from the artichokes. The sauce is really tasty, I just wish the pasta absorbed it a little more, and also there was more to it. Maybe I'm just used to thicker sauces. However, this dish is very flavorful, thanks for a great recipe, Lalena!

YUMMY! This dish is so tasty even non-fish lovers will like it! :) Based on some others' suggestions, I added some chopped fresh mushrooms to the mix, and sprinkled some Italian seasoning and parmesean cheese to the pan as the fish simmered. Thanks Bonnie for a yummy recipe!

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2008
DELICIOUS! Based on others' suggestions, I pounded the chicken breasts til they were about 1/4 - 1/2 inch thick. I also doubled the butter and lime juice to have more sauce to baste the chicken as it was cooking. The chicken came out very moist, tender, and flavorful. Thanks for a quick and tasty recipe!

Easier Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2008
This recipe is FANTASTIC! Definitely "company worthy". :) I followed the advice of the "most helpful" reviewer: after browning the chicken, I removed it from the pan and sauteed the mushrooms with about 4 cloves of crushed garlic and one onion (minced). I combined one can of cream of mushroom soup with a cup of marsala wine, and poured that mixture over the chicken I returned to the pan, and simmered the whole thing for 15 minutes. And there is enough extra sauce to pour over potatoes or rice or pasta. Super yummy, thanks D.! :)

Based on previous suggestions, I marinated the chicken with the taco seasoning package and 2/3 cup of water for about 1-2 hours before baking. Spiciness was perfect! Chicken came out very tender and flavorful. Thanks, Faye!

Italian Zucchini Saute

Very tasty veggie dish! I only used 1/2 the zucchini and added about 500g of chopped fresh mushrooms instead, to give it a little more variety. Thanks, Colee576 :)

Grilled Shrimp and Apple Skewers

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
Based on some other reviewer's suggestions, I added 2 TB of applesauce to marinade and used brown sugar instead of white. I used fresh basil and doubled the amount. I marinated the shrimp for about 2 hours, then sauteed them in a hot skillet over the stove. Loved the taste, thanks Moonroze!

Sirloin Marinara

Great recipe, definitely a keeper! Watch cooking time though; I used thin slices and I like med rare steak so I cut the sauteeing and simmering time by about half. Thanks Lanelle for a simple and delicious recipe!

Fisherman's Quick Fish

This recipe is SO quick and SO easy! I used Sea Salt & Vinegar Kettle Chips and I tripled the cheese. Be careful and watch the baking time, if you bake for too long your chips will burn! Thanks Karena for a tasty & quick weeknight meal.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: May 2, 2008
Good recipe, very tasty. I did make a few minor changes though. Based on some of the other reviewers' suggestions, I added garlic (4 cloves) and one medium onion to the pan and sauteed them before adding the chicken. I dipped the chicken in egg before putting in the flour mixture, which I also doubled. I doubled the mushrooms and tripled the wine/sherry mix. I added a generous amount of Italian spice to the pan while the chicken was simmering. Once the chicken was done, I removed it from the pan and added the leftover flour mixture to the sauce to thicken. Served with mashed potatoes & green beans. Tasted like the chicken marsala from our favorite restaurant! Thanks, Lisa!

Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2008
Very very very good chicken recipe! I followed KMILTI's suggestions, and also added 1/4 c of red wine as another reviewer suggested. The chicken comes out soooo tender, you can cut it with a fork! But most importantly was the flavor, yum yum yum! (One important note tho' - separate the boneless skinless chicken breasts before freezing them!!)

This recipe was OK. It seemed a little lacking in the flavor department. I did like that it was very quick and perfect for a weeknight meal though!
