Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2009
I really loved the cooking method. Honestly, I didn't bother trying the sauce. Based on all the reviews, I didn't want to take the chance the sauce did indeed taste like glorified ketchup (no offense). Plus I've made ALOT of homemade barbeque sauces and they unfortunately never taste as good as the bottle. The closest I've ever come to good sauce is Big Al's KC Bar-B-Q Sauce (on this site), but my hubbie didn't like it. So I gave it 4 stars for tender fall-off-the-bone meat with store bought barbeque sauce-thanks!

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2009
My son and I really liked this! I made it in the crock pot and it was ready in about 6 hours (I used tenderloins so they cooked a little quicker without having to cut them up. They fell apart into chunks as I scooped them out for our tacos. Thanks!

Crispy Lemon Fish Fillets

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2009
Normally we don't care for fish, but this was very tasty! I could see adding cajun seasoning would make it even better (there's a good cajun seasoning recipe on this site)

Slow Cooker Bean Casserole AKA Sweet Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
Let me just say, this recipe is great! Very versatile. My husband is not a fan of chili so I tried this and it was well liked! I did add chili beans as well as the baked beans and I don't know why but I added some turkey ham because it just sounded good! Traded out green peppers for onions and topped it off with a little cheddar when serving-yummy! Thanks for a little something different!

Grandma B's Bean Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2009
I have been making this for a while now and with the modifications others have suggested, it makes it awesome. Chicken broth or stock makes it super flavorful along with bay leaf. I even like it with some minced garlic and basil every once in a while-and it does get better the longer it cooks, so start this one out late at night or early in the morning. Thanks GB!

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
Excellent recipe! Very versatile. I added in coconut, chocolate chips and raisins. They seemed a little dry and crumbly, so I added some water and that did the trick! I really liked the flavor with the cinnamon and oats. Will make them again! Thanks

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
Bless the crock pot, this was good! We had these with no bread and they were very good, just like eating chicken wings without the bones. I was able to cut down on the cooking time by using chicken tenderloins instead of the breasts, just used more of them. They were ready in 5 hours. Thanks!UPDATE!! The leftovers are great on top of baked potato wedges and melted cheese with ranch (or blue cheese)-yummy!!!

World's Best Pasta Sauce!

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
AWESOME SAUCE!!! I've been making the lasagna and had used this as just a sauce before noticing this recipe... it is better than any restaurant and very easy to make! Will be making and eating this forever!!!! Thanks John... I hope to see more recipes from you:) I did forget one thing-I use beef stock instead of water. It gives it just a little more flavor. Also very good with crushed red pepper and mushrooms!

Shrimp Scampi

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
Good recipe overall. I left out the pasta because I didn't want the extra carbs. I would agree that it could use more garlic-almost anything could always use more garlic! Thanks

I thought these were kinda dry. If I make them again, I might add some butter or water. Thanks anyway!

Taco Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2009
Pretty good casserole if you're bored with the typical mexican food. I had left over macaroni and taco meat, so this worked out well! I didn't have any tomato soup, so I used salsa and skipped the tomatoes also. Instead of regular taco seasoning, I suggest taco seasoning1 from this site.

Fudgy Brownies I

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
I don't know why, but brownies never turn out good for me. I bake cakes, pies, cookies, but never had any luck with brownies. I made sure to pull them out before they were completely done and they still hardened after cooling. As some reviewers have said, they weren't sweet at all, actually quite bland. I will continue looking-thanks anyway.

Spicy Oil and Vinegar Bread Dip

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
Let me start by saying it was delicious! I had it with the garlic onion focaccia recipe on this site and it was to die for! I haven't been able to do dairy lately (have a new baby w/a sensitive tummy) and have been craving pizza, cheesesticks, any thing similar. This definitely filled that crave-thanks!

Garlic Onion Focaccia

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
I made this to eat with dinner last night and it was fabulous! It was great with the spicy oil and vinegar dip on this site... I had some more for breakfast this morning! I had to leave out the cheese and subbed non-hydrogenated margarine for the butter. I will definately make it again and will try it for a pizza.

Buttery Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
I made these for my son's 2nd birthday almost 2 years ago. I had a cold and couldn't really taste anything. Everyone else went on and on about how good they were. So, I made them again for Christmas and I tasted what everyone meant! They are now served for every special occasion and always doubled so I have extra to send home! Thank you!

I have made this into a regular loaf and mini loaves and it has been excellent every time! My husband prefers this bread for grilled ham and cheese over my other fresh baked challah!

Brisket with BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
I used this recipe with a chuck roast in my slow cooker-it was delicious! It didn't even need barbeque sauce, maybe just a little more liquid smoke. I will try it with a brisket next time.

Honey Mustard Beer Brats

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2009
I didn't care for the strong beer taste, but maybe it's just cause I've never had my brats this way. I added more barbeque sauce and let it all sit in the slow cooker for another half an hour and that seemed to do the trick.

Way too thin, other than that, they tasted pretty good for chocolate pancakes. Definitely double the recipe!
