Sri Lankan Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2010
This curry was one of the best and most delicious I've ever had. It was rich and had a wonderful blend of flavours. Definitely a keeper. The only thing I will do differently in the future is to cut down on the salt a tad. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Green Beans with Cherry Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2006
I made these wonderful beans last night (along with the grecian pork tenderloin, which was a total flop, by the way) and my guest couldn't stop complimenting me on them! Even my fiance had seconds and he is not crazy about green beans. I think the amount of sugar you add depends on how sour your tomatoes are and on your own personal taste. I used fresh garlic and half salt, half seasoning salt, and just a tad less butter than the recipe called for. Also, I didn't have fresh basil on hand, so I used dry basil and it turned out great. This was fantastic; this is my new green beans recipe. Mmmmm. THANK YOU!

Grandma's Gingersnap Cookies

Quite good! I didn't roll in cinnamon sugar, but they were still very tasty. Recipe is perfect as written. Love that you don't have to refrigerate dough for hours before baking.

Bow Tie Pasta with Sausage and Sweet Peppers

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
I don't know what all the hype is about with this recipe, sorry! I made it tonight for dinner, because I was missing so many ingredients to make something a little more elaborate. I made it exactly as is and it was so bland. It was edible, but quite bland. I should have known from the list of ingredients that it wouldn't be anything fantastic, but the reviews are so great, that I had to try the recipe out. I won't be making this again. There are FAR better sausage pasta recipes out there, and they're just as simple with just a couple more ingredients!

Easy Breaded Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2007
These were pretty good. DH and I liked them. Though the batter did stay on the shrimp during and after frying, it did become a little bit soggy afterwards... That's why I rated this recipe a 4-star.

Connie's Zucchini "Crab" Cakes

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2007
These were pretty good. I added chopped jalapeno for spice. I also suggest making thinner patties as the thicker ones I made tasted a bit "bready" and pasty on the inside; the thinner ones were crispier and had better flavour!

Grecian Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2006
My fiance loved this recipe, our guest made no specific comments about it, and I wasn't too fond of it. As I was preparing the marinade, I kept tasting and smelling it and I could already tell it was going to be bland, but I decided to give it a chance... I marinated it for about 4 hours and the lime was the only flavour I tasted, even though I followed the recipe to a 'T'. It was a little dry as well. I won't make this again as I've DEFINITELY had better tenderloin recipes! Sorry...

Chocolate Icing

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
It seemed more like a glaze to me, not an icing. And it was WAY too sweet! Doubt I'll be making this again.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
Excellent cookies. My MIL told me about 5 times that they were so delicious. My husband commented that they were a little greasy, which is true, but that didn't stop us from devouring them. I didn't rate them 5 stars because I think more oatmeal is needed. And maybe the extra oatmeal would cut the grease down a little...? I'll probably increase to 2 cups of oatmeal next time!

Mama Bear's Porridge

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2008
If you dislike the taste of powdered milk, then you will probably find this recipe to be nothing more than 'ok' (thankfully, the rest of the ingredients mask some of the taste of the powdered stuff). And I even added a little less powdered milk than the recipe called for! Even my non-picky, oatmeal-loving toddler wasn't crazy about this one.

This was surprisingly good for brunch. My (picky) husband even liked it! I used butter instead of oil though, and not quite as much tomato sauce.
