Sky High Yorkshire Pudding

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
This is probably the best yorkshire pudding I've ever had! I made the recipe exactly as is. It was easy! They puffed right up, and were light and crispy, not to mention delicious. The lack of salt is not a problem, especially if you're spooning beef gravy/sauce over them, as gravy tends to be salty anyway. The next day, I just popped them into the toaster oven and they puffed and crisped right up again after 5-6 minutes. I dunked them in gravy for lunch! :) Yummy!!! Thank you so much for sharing this awesome recipe.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
Excellent cookies. My MIL told me about 5 times that they were so delicious. My husband commented that they were a little greasy, which is true, but that didn't stop us from devouring them. I didn't rate them 5 stars because I think more oatmeal is needed. And maybe the extra oatmeal would cut the grease down a little...? I'll probably increase to 2 cups of oatmeal next time!

Good recipe as is. Also great with a package of dry onion soup mix added to the beef!

Asian Tuna Patties

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
I followed the recipe exactly except for the following: I used crushed croutons instead of crumbs and used chives instead of green onions as I had none on hand. The patties were very flavourful but a little on the salty side (perhaps because of my substituting the bread crumbs for crouton crumbs, which are already seasoned?). They also fell apart a tad during frying. I will definitely make this again, when I have bread crumbs in the pantry.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
This is quite good, although it doesn't quite beat the simmer-all-day sauces! But I especially love the meatballs!

Ten Minute Enchilada Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2009
Tastes like the canned stuff but without the preservatives and soy, which my daughter is allergic to. Pretty much what we were looking for since we had already started making the enchiladas and realized we were out of the canned stuff.

Extra Easy Hummus

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
This was exactly what I was looking for since I had no tahini on hand. It was quite good, but I did add just a few drops of pure sesame oil to aquire that sesame taste that the tahini normally provides. I'm giving it 5 stars because this hummus lives up to its name - it's extra easy to make! And because it tastes just like the stuff you pay $3-4 for at the grocery store.

Best Ever Sausage with Peppers, Onions, and Beer!

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
This was absolutely delicious! The whole family, including my 1.5 y/o daughter loved this. I followed the recipe almost exactly, except that I allowed the beer to simmer a little longer before adding in the veggies just to burn off more of the alcohol, since our toddler was having this meal too. And I used hot italian sausages because that's what I had. We will definitely be making this again and again! Thanks for the great recipe!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2008
These were great. I agree that they are pretty sweet, but if you're craving cookies, doesn't that mean you want sweet? That's what it means to me! :) The consistency (crisp yet chewy) is really what sets this recipe apart from the rest.

Mama Bear's Porridge

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2008
If you dislike the taste of powdered milk, then you will probably find this recipe to be nothing more than 'ok' (thankfully, the rest of the ingredients mask some of the taste of the powdered stuff). And I even added a little less powdered milk than the recipe called for! Even my non-picky, oatmeal-loving toddler wasn't crazy about this one.

Grilled Asian Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2007
This was delicious, but I agree with the other poster, it was way too salty! The only thing I changed was to use 2 chicken breasts instead of 4, and I found there was just enough sauce! I suggest doubling the sauce recipe if you're using 4 chicken breasts.

Easy Breaded Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2007
These were pretty good. DH and I liked them. Though the batter did stay on the shrimp during and after frying, it did become a little bit soggy afterwards... That's why I rated this recipe a 4-star.

Connie's Zucchini "Crab" Cakes

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2007
These were pretty good. I added chopped jalapeno for spice. I also suggest making thinner patties as the thicker ones I made tasted a bit "bready" and pasty on the inside; the thinner ones were crispier and had better flavour!

Zucchini for Lunch

This was surprisingly good for brunch. My (picky) husband even liked it! I used butter instead of oil though, and not quite as much tomato sauce.

Enchilada Casserole III

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2007
We ignored the three first ingredients and used a can of enchilada sauce instead, and we also used chicken breasts cubed instead of beef and added salsa to the chicken/bean mixture. It turned out to be one of the best mexican dishes we've ever had! Unfortunately, we pretty much created a different dish, so I'm only going to rate it 4 stars. Thanks for the idea though!
