I just love food! Although I'm learning to really love cooking and all of the great food and flavor combinations, my favorite thing to do is bake. I love to make cookies, cakes, brownies, etc. Mom was a spectacular cook. We had fresh baked goods every day, sunday spaghetti dinner, warm winter chili with a side of white bread with butter and grape jelly. The best day of the year was Thanksgiving - every single item was homemade... including the delicious gooey cinnamon buns we ate in the middle of the night while waiting on the turkey in the oven! Butterflied, semi-boneless lamb, with a balsamic and apricot sauce. OMG! So amazingly delicious. Homemade crab cakes & perfectly cooked filet mignon with a port reduction. Chicken in peanut sauce... I forgot to compensate for the sodium in the soy sauce and added WAY TOO MUCH salt! Gross, had to throw the whole meal out and start from scratch.
