Great dish - tastes alot like one of my favorite dishes - Potato Latkas - very little 'fish' taste - kids would love it. Great served with Dill Sauce from this site

Quick Beef Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2006
Easy to make. My son found the mushroom soup and cheddar cheese taste combination a little strange. I thought it was great - had about 5 slices. Next time I'll sautee some sliced shrooms' & onion to add to the topping. Definitely a different pizza and definitely tasty.

Steak Salad (Ranen Salad)

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2006
Very tasty. My girlfriend loved it. I found the steak too chewy but that is my fault as I over-broiled it because she doesn't like it undercooked.

Cheesy Tuna Mornay

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2006
Had to double the amount of pasta. Found it lacked flavour. Suggest adding any spice to liven it up. Otherwise, it was an 'ok' meal for my son and I.

VERY tasty. Relatively easy to prepare and the feta was an excellent compliment to the chicken. Highly recommended.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2006
Absolutely loved this version of Hamburg Steak. I think the key is the gravy - I doubled the amount - the flavor was GREAT! Served up with white rice is a unique change from the standard fries or mash. Highly recommended! Tried it again 3 yrs later - still a 5*. The sherry adds that special touch. best Hamburg steak I've ever had!

Apple Butter Pork Loin

Absolutely excellent! I have a sweet tooth and the combination of spices with the brown sugar was to die for. The meat was succulent, (used pork sirloin) and very, very tasty. Loved it!

Supreme Apple Butter

Did the job ok. Very time consuming. I only needed for 1 dish - should have made it the previous day. Verrrry tasty with pork! Gave it 4* only because of theprep time.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2006
Did not care for it in the least. I erred in putting too much topping on it nevertheless, it lacked flavour completely. It was dry. I'll keep looking for the definitive macaroni & cheese.

Chicken Salad with Couscous

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2006
Girlfriend gave it a 5* - I'm a little more critical. Very unique and tasty dish. Followed the recipe to a "T" and it came out very well. Will do it again! I put pepper portions under the broiler and in future will add cashews and large slices of shroom'.

Excellent! I've got to say that I never eat chicken with the skin but I left it on for this recipe - glad I did. The flavor was to die for. Will make this one of my chicken dishes of choice!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
Cooked at low for 10.5 hrs. Came out incredibly tender - couldn't cut it - came apart in large chunks. Found gravy to be a little watery. Threw in sliced baby carrots, onion, mushroom, (under meat) - left no room in small Crock Pot. Sauteed baby potatoes to add to plate. Aroma in house was heavenly. Taste reminded me of Sunday suppers in my youth. GREAT!

Cheapskate Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2006
I liked it more than my 13 year old. I used leftover green/yellow peppers instead of mixed veggies. I more than doubled the use of Italian spice & would recommend it. Very filling and very tasty!

Bacon Wrapped Hamburgers

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2006
No grill available so I did them in a skillet. Cooking time was long and bacon wasn't crispy enough. Nevertheless, the taste was excellent - no need for condiments. Served them on large sesame buns accompanied by Cesar Salad on the plate. Would definitely try on the Bar-B next summer - probably would rate higher.

Cooked it up for Thanksgiving. Crowd liked it very much. Not fancy by any stretch but very tasty - people wanted left-overs.
