About this Cook
I'm one of those jack-of-all-trades people. I have hundreds of interests, but I'm not excellent at any of them. Cooking, however, has been a staple in my life, and I don't see it going away anytime soon.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking good hot comfort food, especially anything I can throw into a big pot and serve an army with (Chili, stew and chicken & dumplings to name a few). I also love trying my hand at things like Indian food, Thai and anything else that you really have to go ingredient hunting for!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up, my extended family would go camping, and pull out all the stops on food. I love stew in a dutch oven, and pancakes on a cast iron griddle. It just tastes better with dirt!
My cooking triumphs
The day I realized I was "one of the chosen" ones who could make great pie crust...that was a good day.
My cooking tragedies
Bread pudding. I seriously cannot make bread pudding to save my life.

Cucumber Sandwiches III
These were a big hit with the bridesmades at my friend's wedding. Once we finished with them, the boys took them over as well! The crisp, watery cucumber really balances out the creaminess of the cheese and the saltiness of the dressing mix.

Chocolate Icing
I added an extra Tbs of cocoa for a really fudgey taste. This worked perfectly to top a marshmallow and crushed grahm cracker mixture to make S'more Bars. It has a very nice fudge like texture.

Ultimate Maple Snickerdoodles
Very subtle maple flavor, which is nice. You can tell there is something "special" or "extra" but it's not like a maple slap in the face. The texture is perfect as well. I'm not the biggest Snickerdoodle fan, but I love these cookies. Thank you for sharing them!
