I used about a 5# roast. Cooked at 450 for about 25 min, then 325 for just under 90 min. The family enjoyed it for Christmas dinner!

Beef Tips

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
I dumped it all in the crock pot. It was OK. I will try again with higher quality meat (we used some given to us that was not our usual). Served over brown rice. I left out salt

Easy Slow Cooker Meatballs

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2011
I used ground turkey, only 1/2 c breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup parm cheese, and a chunky ragu pasta sauce w/o the crushed tomatoes or puree. Made smaller meatballs (got about 33) and they cooked for about 5.5 hrs on low. Served on wheat submarine rolls with mozzarella cheese and it was loved by all!

I used garlic powder. Was a little salty--I cooked rice in the broth which helped some. Was overall really good and would make again

Italian Cheese Stuffed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2011
used my usual pork chops and spooned the cheese mix over the top then put another layer of pork chops. Wanted to use up mozz cheese, so I added a little grated parm and some italian seasoning. about 1/4-1/2 tsp dried thyme and some dried parsley. Baked about 20-25 min but it needed a little longer. Great!

Roasted Garlic Zucchini and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2011
I used leftover yellow squash skins and seeds after making baby food, can of tomatoes, partially cooked baby carrots, and some fresh spinach with minced onion, garlic powder, and no salt. Put it in the oven with pork cops at 375 just to warm it up for maybe 10 min. Forgot the parm cheese and basil, still great!

Shredded Beef Chimichangas

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2011
I cooked meat in the crock for 11 hours on low. Left out the 1/4 c water, but it was still too liquid-y, even after the meat sat in the fridge overnight. Put cheese in with meat in tortilla.

Sweet Pepper Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2011
I forgot butter, only had green pepper, and left out salt. Had to adjust a little for minute brown rice I had on hand--just boiled until water evaporated

Caribbean Fruity Salsa

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2011
My husband really liked this. I thought it was OK, just not worth the effort it took to dice everything. I used it over some grilled chicken and rice. It made for a healthy light dinner but I won't be running to make it again.

Used more green beans, less onion, and only seasoned salt for salt. Added little garlic powder, rosemary, and thyme. Cooked green beans and carrots on "fresh vegetable" setting in microwave.

Old Bay® Shrimp Fest

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
I halved recipe and used heaping quarter cup old bay and only little over 1 tsp garlic salt. It was way too much salt. Kept water the same but full can of beer. Added a quartered lemon, Left out onion. Used defrosted niblets. I added corn and sausage at same time and cooked 7 min--I think that was too much cook time for those. Will make again with few modifications

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

I used miracle whip. I made extra to dip as others suggested, but I didn't like it as a dip. My husband did. It was great as a marinade/baste.

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2011
Added Italian bread crumbs, onion powder, 2 egg whites and 1 yolk, some dried parsley, garlic powder, seasoning salt, worsch and soy sauce. made huge patties (6 big and 2 small) and broiled them about 10 min each side. Tasted like a meatloaf on a bun. I think I went too light on seasoning--I guestimated amts. Would add more next time.

Ham Bone Soup

This was ok. I added carrots, garlic powder, and bay leaf. Drained and rinsed the beans. ETA Just had leftovers and like many crock recipes, it was much better the second time around! Also I cooked on low 7 hrs

Mom's Turkey Sausage Patties

Reviewed: May 21, 2011
I used 1 1/2# of turkey, and only 1/4 tsp salt. Next time I would cut down on the pepper--it was a bit spicy, but great otherwise. ETA: Second time I made I used about 1/2 the total pepper called for and it was much more to our liking. It was a little dry, though. Not sure why this time.

Citrus Tilapia

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2011
Nice and simple dish. I agree it tastes like OJ over fish, but it was fine. I had to keep adding olive oil and a little butter, but also used 1.5# of tilapia and doubled the OJ sauce.
