Waffles I

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2010
I thought the batter was a little thin i added an extra 1/2 cup of flour. I also added a little extra vanilla I have also tried a healthy version that came out really well. 1/2 white flour 1/2 wheat, 1 TBS of milled flax seed with water to replace the egg and added a pint of blueberries. Came out great.

Eggs Benedict Breakfast Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
It was ok. You couldn't really tasted the sauce. It wasn't bad tasting, it just seemed like it would have tasted better if I would have just made eggs benedict

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
Everyone loved this. For my pan I should have only used two cans of biscuits. I used 3 and the brown sugar sauce ran over the sides and all over the bottom of the oven. Also the middle was a little too doughy. If I would have used 2 cans it would have been perfect.

Sangria! Sangria!

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
I didn't have lemonade concentrate or the carbonated water but had everything else. This had very good flavor, but wasn't as thick as I get in Mexican Town so only 4 stars

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
Only giving 4 stars due to cornstarch taste. I saved a can of broth to mix with the cornstarch as others recommended, but it didn't help. This soup had great flavor until we added the cornstarch then that's all I could taste. My 9 year old daughter suggested using some white cheddar that we had and it saved the soup. I would suggest less cornstarch

Cheeseburger Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
Made just as posted. I agree should have used the carrots and celery. It wasn't bad, just felt like it shouldn't have been there. Overall taste was good and my picky son ate it up!

This just didn't work for me. It did thicken up but the flavor just wasn't there. I've had better flavor from a package

Craig's Cocktail Sauce

Best cocktail sauce I've made. My Sis In Law likes it really spicey so I doubled the horseraddish and hot sauce. She loved it.

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
tried to use this recipe to roll out and cut cookies with the kids. NIGHTMARE! I tried three times but the dough is too soft. Even put it in the fridge and cut out on was paper. This was not the happy little make Santa cookies experience I was looking for. Finally finished the cookies at 9:30 pm. They do seem good for round cookies, just don't torture yourself by trying to cut them with cutters

Easy Cheese Ball II

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
Recipe as is would have been WAY to much ranch for our taste. I was going to half the recipe so I started with 1 block of cream cheese, half a pack of ranc dressing and the cheddar. The ranch was overpowering for me and dh. I ended up adding another block of cream cheese and real bacon bits and it turned out great

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
I made this for a family gathering and had NO leftovers. I've made it 2x now once with cool whip and once with homemade whip cream. Homemade was way too rich and sweet and for me to say that is really something. I think I'll try the vanilla cool whip but so far the cool whip was the best

Manicotti Alla Romana

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
I followed the advice of others and used sweet italian sausage instead of hamburger. I added fresh basil to the sausage and cheese mixture and only used about 1/2 of the spinach. I used a bag to pipe the mixture into the noodles, I put all of the mixture into a gallon size bag. I should have used 2 smaller bags, it would have been easier to control. My DH said this tastes like it was from a restaurant. I can't believe how good this turned out. It took some time but was worth it. I will make this again.

Braciola I

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2008
I really liked this great way to use a cheap cut of meat. Meat was very tender. I also had a problem with the cheese leaking out. The rolls that I browned a little more seemed to do a little better then those that I wasn't able to brown the ends as well. It didn't do much for dh, but I took it for lunch the next day.

Quick easy and a hit. I whipped this up for Thanksgiving. It's one of those little details that makes it look like you worked for days, but you didn't have to!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2007
This had great flavor. I only had 1/2 cup of red hot left so that's all I used. The only thing that I didn't like was that it HAS to stay hot. If the dip cools it gets very thick. If people take small portions at a time out of the crock pot it's better. I don't think I would like this at all baked in the oven then cooling during serving. I made this again. This time used 2 large chicken breasts that I shreaded, one package of cream cheese, 1/2 cup hot sauce (so the kids would still eat it) and 1 cup of blue cheese dressing. It was great. Didn't get as thick as the first time great flavor. Will be making this again and again.
