About this Cook
I am a full time mom with 5 beautiful children. I am always looking for recipes that please everybody, not easy to find :)
My favorite things to cook
My favorite thing to cook is chicken soup! I have a few tricks that make mine different than others and is frequently requested by friends and family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year for thanksgiving I can't wait to make homemade cranberry-orange chutney. It goes perfect on smoked turkey... it's just not Thanksgiving without it!
My cooking triumphs
Anytime I can turn a simple, quick recipe into something that tastes great and all my kide love! A few examples are homemade mac-n-cheese, pretzel turtles, glazed meatloaf, and cheese enchiladas.
My cooking tragedies
I recently had quite a tragic outcome when trying to make baked beans from scratch. Since this dish in my kids favorite meal I will not give up!

Peppered Shrimp Alfredo
Excellent! This recipe is a great base for adding whatever you have in your kitchen. I used the mushrooms and instead of the peppers used 3 fresh jalapenos and a huge hand full of basil from my garden. Next time I will add sun dried tomatoes. I also didn't have heavy cream so I used chicken broth to thin the sauce a little, then added the cheese to thicken it back up. We loved this!

Sweet Potato Casserole IV
One of my best friends, who wrote a cookbook, loves this! Enough said :) I also add about 1/2 cup orange juice and a dash of cinnamon to the potatoes when I am mashing them.
