Michelle's Soft Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2011
These are great! dough is very sticky, even after putting in the fridge 24 hrs so I just made round ones. I think they would be too difficult to cut with cutters.

Serbian Ground Beef, Veggie, and Potato Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
This is a great recipe, thanks! A family friend from yugoslavia made this for us once but he doesn't speak any english and I never got his recipe. This is pretty close. He puts pork in his with the beef but it is not the traditional way and just beef is the usual way. Instead of wine, water and bouillon I just used canned beef broth. I used more potatoes also, the entire top should be covered. It's so good!

Zippy Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
I changed the recipe up some so that is why it's a 4. I didn't use the nutmeg or parsley and instead of bacon I used some sausage because I was out of bacon. I think it would be better with the bacon so that's up for next time. As someone else said, either use big potatoes or less water. It was runny but good so I tossed in some instant flakes and another can of milk to thicken it up and that fixed it just fine. It's a great recipe to adjust to your own tastes and I'm sure it's great as is too. I will have to try it without alterations one time.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2007
I read the other reviews first so I knew to add a little less flour.I also followed the advice to lower the oven temp a bit because my oven runs hot. I baked them at 400. The dough came out just fine, not dry and tasted very good. It did puff up a little more than I would expect for pretzels but I kinda eye balled the yeast so perhaps I put in a touch too much. The flavor was nice and the dough was the perfect soft type pretzel consistency and texture. I also made great bread sticks with it!

Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2007
I rated four for taste. But the dough is impossible to work with! I chilled it 2 hours and it was still very sticky. Then I stuck it in the freezer for a bit, still too sticky. I did put in only 3 cups flour per the other review instructions. Maybe this recipe needs all that flour? I don't know. I ended up making it one big bar cookie on a cookie sheet, even working with it to get it to cover the pan was a chore. I probably won't bother with this recipe again simply because I wanted cut outs and it was impossible to do that.

Super easy and it tasted great. I halfed the recipe and the amount of sugar was just right.

Belgian Waffles

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2007
This is a great recipe. It's not too runny and doesn't make a big mess when you put it in the waffle maker. I didn't bother to separate the eggs and fold the whites in. I felt it wasn't necessary and it saved a lot of time. The batter did rise but I wouldn't say it doubled in size. If your's doesn't rise at all make sure you didn't make the milk too hot, it can kill the yeast.

Vanilla Ice Cream III

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2006
Way too sweet, I would cut back on the sugar. Even my daughter with a very sweet tooth said it was too sweet. I still gave it 4 because it's a simple recipe that is good, just very sweet. I will make it again with less sugar and also I did use more vanilla than called for.

Barbeque Beef Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2006
I gave it a 4 because I made some changes, it's very good. Changes I made: no onion no corn 1 lb. hamburg 1 package corn bread cook in 2qt glass casserole dish I added a bit more bbq sauce also (not exactly sure, just made sure all the stuff was evenly coated) I will make this again. I really think the corn is overkill and there is no need for that much corn bread. If you want the top to look "nice" then use 2 packages. Otherwise 1 is enough but you can faintly see a tomato or pepper poke through the top if you only use 1.
