My favorite family cooking traditions
It started when I was about 2-3 and my dad had me start cooking with him pulled up on a chair. That's how he learned from his mom and grandma and how he taught me. I now do the same with my kids. It's nice to share that with them and know they will grow up and know how to feed themselves!

Michelle's Soft Sugar Cookies
These are great! dough is very sticky, even after putting in the fridge 24 hrs so I just made round ones. I think they would be too difficult to cut with cutters.

Serbian Ground Beef, Veggie, and Potato Bake
This is a great recipe, thanks! A family friend from yugoslavia made this for us once but he doesn't speak any english and I never got his recipe. This is pretty close. He puts pork in his with the beef but it is not the traditional way and just beef is the usual way. Instead of wine, water and bouillon I just used canned beef broth. I used more potatoes also, the entire top should be covered. It's so good!

Buttery Soft Pretzels
I read the other reviews first so I knew to add a little less flour.I also followed the advice to lower the oven temp a bit because my oven runs hot. I baked them at 400. The dough came out just fine, not dry and tasted very good. It did puff up a little more than I would expect for pretzels but I kinda eye balled the yeast so perhaps I put in a touch too much. The flavor was nice and the dough was the perfect soft type pretzel consistency and texture. I also made great bread sticks with it!
