Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Made this crust for peach pie and it made a great pie over the top. I even had to reroll it (dough got too warm and stuck to the counter) and it was still flaky and tender. The bit of sugar just did it. Will use this for all my fruit pies from now own. Can't wait to try it on apple pie.

Upside-Down Coffee Cake

I can't believe I haven't rated this yet. I have made it several times and it was always a hit. I use a non-stick bundt pan and bake it 45-50 minutes and it is perfect. No dripping, either.

Caramel Apple Pie II

Couldn't think of a way to make this any better, except maybe to take out all the calories! Holy cow, this was good. Hubby and I ate 2/3 of the pie the first night.

Sandy's Chocolate Cake

The cake itself was about 8 stars. Perfect chocolate cake in every way. The icing was just way too sweet, even for me. I will make the cake again next time I need a chocolate cake, but use a different frosting recipe, perhaps a buttercream.

Broccoli Chicken Divan

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Make is exactly per recipe, which is really unlike me. I did bake it in 2 9" pans for about 27 minutes because I love my cream cheese frosting. Made Cream Cheese Frosting II from this site because I love my frosting with a good cream cheese taste. Together, this was one of the best things I have ever baked. This is my new Carrot Cake recipe!

Best Tuna Casserole

Made this as per the recipe, except used fewer egg noodles and 2 C turkey instead of the tuna, because that's what I had. I did add some milk before I put it in the oven, as it seemed a bit dry. It was delicious and the 3 of us at almost the whole thing. A throwback to the tuna casserole my Mom used to my when I was a kid.

Glazed Meatloaf I

This was simple and delicious. I made as directed except forgot to put lemon juice in the meat mixture. OK, I was in a hurry and misread the recipe. I would make this again just the same way as hubby and even my onion-hating son loved it. A hint to make nice firm meatloaf: once you have put the mixture in the loaf pan, pat it down, then drop it hard on the counter a few times. Of course, it has to be metal pan.

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

I would have rated this recipe a resounding 5 stars except for the fact that 7 hours on low is way too long to cook this. I think 4 would have been about right. Other than using raw shrimp, I made this exactly as it reads, and it was delicious. Just overcooked. I will definately make this again, though.

Chicken Stew 'Fricot'

Great traditional Acadian stew. This recipe is very true to the old Northern New Brunswick ones I have seen. I like more spice so I did add a bit of this and that to liven it to my personal taste. Great meal on a cold winter's night.

Garlic Pork Roast

Made as per recipe except I put the sweet potatoes on top as I would have to leave it for 9 hours, and only added about a cup of stock. Meat was tender, maybe a bit dry. What made this is that I took the juice from the crockpot and pureed it with a hand blender. Then I put it in a saucepan, added cornstarch and water and maybe a tablespoon of balsamic vinegar and cooked it for a bit. My little sauce really made this dish and I would definately make it again with this sauce.

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Aside from changing up the preparation as I had some leftover turkey I wanted to use, I made this as per the recipe. I just sauted the onion and garlic in olive oil and then added everything to the pot to simmer for half and hour. Absolutely the best soup I have made in years and years!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Seasoned a 4.5lb blade roast with salt, pepper and garlic powder and browned as many suggested. Added less water but used soups as per recipe. Totally awesome. Moist and falling apart as a pot roast should be. Going to serve the leftovers tonight adding sour cream to the gravy over egg nood.es

All-Day Apple Butter

I tried this recipe to use up some delicious heritage apples I was given. Made as directed and it is delicious. It did take less time to cook down, and more time to get rid of the water than the recipe states, but slow cookers vary. Glad I tried this. Thanks!

Bodacious Broccoli Salad

Oh My Gosh Muffins

OH MY GOSH! Made exactly per recipe except made 12 large muffins, and baked them for 30 minutes. They were perfect in every way. 25 minutes seems too much time for small muffins, so I expect if your muffins were dry, they were cooked too long.
