Pasta Carbonara I

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
Delicious and easy meal. Maybe a bit dry, but I may have had the noodles too hot when I added the egg and they cooked.

Thai Ground Chicken Basil

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
Simple, easy and scrumptious. No changes except leaving out the fish sauce and adding a bit more soy sauce and some water.

This was a simple, tasty vegetable soup that I will make again. A good base for adding any veggies you choose.

Bratwurst Stew

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2010
Exceptional stew. Everyone loved it. I did use about a tablespoon of the seasonings because it seemed like it would be too bland as written. Would be great even without the sausage.

Pork Roast With The World's Best Pork Loin Rub

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2010
Bar none the best pork roast I have ever had. And to top it off, the leftovers make incredible fajitas and wraps.

Herbed Greek Roasted Potatoes with Feta Cheese

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2010
Another winner. I follow the recipe (will wonders never cease!) but they don't take anywhere nearly as long as that to cook, maybe 45 minutes or so.

Made exactly as written except baked only 8 minutes. Will make these again and again. I ate four out of the first dozen I baked!

Made exactly as per recipe and the meateaters in the family loved them. Hubby said I can make these again anytime.

Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
Made this crust for peach pie and it made a great pie over the top. I even had to reroll it (dough got too warm and stuck to the counter) and it was still flaky and tender. The bit of sugar just did it. Will use this for all my fruit pies from now own. Can't wait to try it on apple pie.

Upside-Down Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2010
I can't believe I haven't rated this yet. I have made it several times and it was always a hit. I use a non-stick bundt pan and bake it 45-50 minutes and it is perfect. No dripping, either.

Caramel Apple Pie II

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2010
Couldn't think of a way to make this any better, except maybe to take out all the calories! Holy cow, this was good. Hubby and I ate 2/3 of the pie the first night.

Sandy's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
The cake itself was about 8 stars. Perfect chocolate cake in every way. The icing was just way too sweet, even for me. I will make the cake again next time I need a chocolate cake, but use a different frosting recipe, perhaps a buttercream.

Broccoli Chicken Divan

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
Made this according to the recipe, with the exception that I used low fat soup. I served it over egg noodles for a quick, easy and delicious main dish.

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2010
Make is exactly per recipe, which is really unlike me. I did bake it in 2 9" pans for about 27 minutes because I love my cream cheese frosting. Made Cream Cheese Frosting II from this site because I love my frosting with a good cream cheese taste. Together, this was one of the best things I have ever baked. This is my new Carrot Cake recipe!

Best Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2010
Made this as per the recipe, except used fewer egg noodles and 2 C turkey instead of the tuna, because that's what I had. I did add some milk before I put it in the oven, as it seemed a bit dry. It was delicious and the 3 of us at almost the whole thing. A throwback to the tuna casserole my Mom used to my when I was a kid.

Glazed Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
This was simple and delicious. I made as directed except forgot to put lemon juice in the meat mixture. OK, I was in a hurry and misread the recipe. I would make this again just the same way as hubby and even my onion-hating son loved it. A hint to make nice firm meatloaf: once you have put the mixture in the loaf pan, pat it down, then drop it hard on the counter a few times. Of course, it has to be metal pan.

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
I would have rated this recipe a resounding 5 stars except for the fact that 7 hours on low is way too long to cook this. I think 4 would have been about right. Other than using raw shrimp, I made this exactly as it reads, and it was delicious. Just overcooked. I will definately make this again, though.

Chicken Stew 'Fricot'

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
Great traditional Acadian stew. This recipe is very true to the old Northern New Brunswick ones I have seen. I like more spice so I did add a bit of this and that to liven it to my personal taste. Great meal on a cold winter's night.
