Cream Cheese Cookies III

Reviewed: May 19, 2014
As written this is OK, but not good enough to make again. Nothing great, nothing bad either. It's probably great with chocolate or caramel on top as per some of the reviews.

Rhubarb Cherry Crisp

Reviewed: May 5, 2014
I was looking for a way to use up rhubarb and cherries I found at the bottom of my freezer, now that spring is here and a new crop should be coming soon. I followed the recipe (other than that I didn't measure the fruit-what I had was close) with the difference being I used frozen sweet cherries instead of the pie filling. The crisp was delicious. Not too sweet but sweet enough. I will certainly make this again.

Philly Cheese Steak Pizza from Pillsbury®

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2014
This was very good and I would make it again. I used 2 oz of old cheddar and 6 oz of mozzarella. I also added some mushrooms and red onion to the pepper mix but I am sure it would be good as written.

Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2013
I followed the recipe exactly, even measured which is unusual for me. The rub was wonderful. This is the first time I have had success with this type of roast. Thank you!

Creme Brulee II

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2013
Loved it, loved it, loved it! I did add the extra egg yolk as per other reviewers, but other than that I followed the directions to the T. Best creme brulee I have ever had. I used the whites to make Authentic French Meringue cookies, also from this site, which happen to use the 4 whites.

Pumpkin Cheesecake II

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2013
I followed the recipe except only used 1/2 the amount of lemon extract. I made the maple glaze as others did, but added some cornstarch to stiffen the sauce to a sort of glaze. Very good.

Pumpkin Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2013
The foundations of the recipe are good, but it required a lot of playing with seasoning. As written, the chili was very bland. I will make it again, though, adding more chili powder, some cumin and chipotle chili powder, a shot of cider vinegar, a bit of sugar and more salt, too.

Sour Cream Cornbread

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2013
I only used 1 cup of sugar as other reviewers suggested, and half sour cream and half Greek yogurt (had less sour cream than I throught) and it turned out delicious. I think it would be too sweet with the whole amount of sugar unless it was for a dessert. Made it in two 9" cake pans and froze one to have another day. Was great with chili, and would be equally good as dessert with maple syrup poured over it.

Asian Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2013
This was delicious. Used whatever kind of chili paste I had in the fridge and more chicken thighs, but the rest was the same as written. This is definately a keeper, and I don't keep too many.

Butter Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2013
It turned out flaky and crispy with a hint of salt even though I used unsalted butter. It was a perfect contrast to sweet, silky smooth strawberry custard pie. A keeper, and I don't say that often.

Followed the oreo crust suggestions and OMG!!! I made this for my husband who loves white chocolate and I am not sure which one of us loved this more.

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2013
I make this as written, except only use 1 can of black beans. It is delicious and I make it regularily for my lunches at work. One recipe (one can of beans) makes 5 decent sized servings about 300 calories each.

PHILLY Sugar Shack Maple Walnut Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 13, 2013
Made it exactly as per recipe and it was awesome. I used very dark maple syrup a friend makes and that added lots of flavour. I might bake it 5 minutes less next time. I will be making this again.

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2013
Delicious! Didn't change anything. I had a bit of leftover chocolate butter cream in the fridge and made sandwiches with a few. Not for the faint of heart or will power.

Cream of Broccoli Soup III

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2013
I will give this 4.5. I added a smalled potato, diced, as per reviewers' suggestion. It was delicious and the perfect thickness with this one small change. I did serve it topped with a bit of shredded old cheddar. I printed this one and put it in my keeper binder. That doesn't happen often.

This was good, but nothing special. Cooked it for 10 hours on low and it fell into shreds.

Blueberry Boy Bait

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2012
I have been making this for 20 years or so and it's fabulous. The original recipe came from a 1954 Pillsbury Bakeoff booklet. (yard sale find) It was 2nd place in the Junior Category. The only change I make is add more blueberries. I have even accidently forgotten to reserve the topping, and it's turned out fine. Delicious and addictive.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2012
This is hands down the best cream cheese frosting I have ever had. I add more sugar to taste sometimes, depending on what I am frosting. I love the fact that you can taste the cream cheese, and not just sugar.
