Corned Beef Hash Cakes

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2014
This was ok, I used canned hash instead of the mashed potatoes. Was a little bland. Used mainly the cooking method and the suggestion to add an egg. My FIL has nostalgia for these---his mom used to make them. He wanted me to make some for the super bowl appies. I attempted them! Added a slice of cheese to melt on the top.

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2013
This was simply an amazing bread, and I have made a lot of breads in twenty years. I did make a change---my honey was solidified so I added an egg to make up for lack of liquid (I have found the solidified honey as a sweetener makes really good bread). I also halved the recipe and mixed in my bread machine because my machine couldn't handle that much flour. I ended up with two loaves (after mixing in machine and let rise for an hour and half I shaped the loaves and let rise for another hour). My boys loved the slices with butter and I made sandwiches with the extra loaf. Great sandwich bread, I have to say! I am thinking would make really good toast also. Will have to make again to try for breakfast toast (; Great texture, held up well slicing. Definitely going into my bread rotation.

French Brioche

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2013
I added an extra egg and make two small braided loaves with this. The second loaf didn't get eaten so I made mushroom dressing with it. Now that was amazing! I will have to make this bread just to have that dressing again. Thanks for the recipe!

Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2012
I totally deficent at making cornbread! Which is weird because I am a great baker. But cornbread never turns out for me. I usually stick to the pkg. mix but everyonce in awhile I tried to make it from scratch. This one didn't work for me either...not the recipe's fault, mine. Here that sigh? Bottom hard, top sank. But I don't want to take away from the recipe's rating so I am going to give it 5

Kathy's Award Winning Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2012
This is a really good sauce! We have used it a couple of times for steak and chicken and I forgot to rate it. We used it for ribs today. Really enjoyed, thanks for the post. It wil probably replace our bottled sauce/cola stuff we usually do.

I didn't use the sauce, just used the crockpot method. Used Bruce's Hot BBQ Sauce on this site. Thanks! Turned out really well!

Bruce's Hot Barbecue Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2012
I was looking to use up a can of apricots and a package of chicken drumsticks. Used this sauce in combination with another recipe on this site. Since this makes alot, I cut the recipe way down to cover 5 drumsticks. Thanks! It was really, really good!

Greg's Southern Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2012
So bad for you! So good though. I wouldn't eat these all the time but for a once in awhile treat...I miss Southern cooking. Makes me nostalgic. (: I have to take one star off because I can't eat like this anymore.

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
Used the ingredients (changed to 2 cups whole wheat, 1 cup reg. flour) list but changed the method. Made the dough as suggested in my bread maker, then used a dumpling press to make my pita shapes. Baked on a baking stone @ 400 for about 17 minutes. Very good. Thanks for the recipe.

These were 'ok'. I got some raspberries on sale and didn't know what to do with them. They didn't get eaten at our house ):

CB's Black Eyed Peas

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2011
Used the cooking method only with this recipe, combined with Tam's recipe on here. Happy New Year and thanks CB! I cooked longer, overnight in the crockpot. Put peas in about 9pm and they were done this morning.

Tam's Black Eye Peas

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2011
I know I made a pot of black-eyed peas last year and I used a recipe on AR but I couldn't remember which one and I guess I forgot to rate it. Used this recipe with some changes (namely a leftover ham bone instead of the turkey leg) and used another recipe on here (CB's) for the method in a slow cooker. Thanks for the inspiration---just tasted some and they were delish! Happy New Year! Thanks, Tam!

Mama's Italian Wedding Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
I used this recipe as an inspiration...changed a few things to fit my tastes, mainly I traded the pasta for potatoes...probably not traditional but it was really, really yummy! Thanks for the base recipe, which I expanded upon with my own ideas.

Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
Made this for Easter Sunday lunch. It was about half eaten between fourteen people...my FIL commented 'a little goes a long way' about it. I did make some changes....2 cans Eagle Brand, about 1/2 cup of key lime juice and I added 1/2 cup of powdered sugar because my husband said the batter tasted too tart. I took the leftover 1/2 pie to school and left it in the teacher's lounge and a few people asked me for the recipe. I directed them to All Recipes! Overall, a good pie and not a lot of hassle cooking it!

Croutons

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
Very good! I used spray butter and sprayed and seasoned before I cut the bread up (used a ulu knife which made it very easy to slice!). Lowered temp to 325. Excellent, enjoyed on a salad. Thanks!

Peach Pie the Old Fashioned Two Crust Way

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2010
Wow! This was really good! Used homegrown peaches a friend gave us & wasn't expecting anything special, just wanted to get rid of the peaches. First peach pie I have ever made & it was great. Followed the directions & also followed advice of another reviewer to use a collander and sprinkle the peaches w/ lemon or lime juice. I used lemon but will try lime next time.
