Southern Cornbread Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2007
This is the first year that I went against my family’s traditional recipe. I did change a few things. I have mentioned before in many of my rating, I cook by scratch ONLY! I did not use the chicken halves; after cooking my turkey, I omitted the butter and used the dripping from the turkey and I made my cornbread from scratch. I plan to go against it every year now. Thank you.

Yummy Candied Yams

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2007
This is momma’s recipe! If you want the candied yams to be more syrupy, decease the water to 1/4 cup, you really don’t need as much as the recipe states.

Apple Dumplings with Rich Cinnamon Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2007
This recipe was delicious. I rated 4 out of 5 only because I like home made cooking. I never use store bought or box baking anything. I made my pie crust from scratch and the family loved it. Thank you so much.

Baked Ham

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2007
I shaved all the fat off, used Sprite and a baking bag with whole cloves. This ham turned out very delicious and NOT salty or greasy at all.

Sweet Potato Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2006
Marvelous! Great texture, taste, easy! This is close to my family recipe. I microwave or bake them until soft, instead of boiling them, to get the optimal nutriteints and taste out of the sweet potato!

Pie Crust V

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2006
This is the recipe my mom taught me about 40 years ago. EXCEPT, we adds more sugar! That's funny...she said it was a family secret! You must be in the family! Great crust recipe for the first timer. You'll be the talk of the town! To manage the richness of the crust, roll crust out and place the crust into the pan with wax paper.

Easy and Delicious Chicken and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2006
I doubled the recipe and only used one package of Lipton onion soup mix. I will only use a 1/2 a package next time. I also addrd 2 teaspoons of chicken bullion to 2 cups water and add on can of Cream of Celery or Cream of Mushroom Soup. Sprinkled garlic powder, seasoned salt, and pepper on meat, than pour mixture over the meat and cook as directed. Yum, Yum!

Potato Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2006
This is a great tasting salmon patty. I really do not like too much dill, so I cut the amount in half. To add extra crunch, I also coated the patties with cornmeal before cooking. MMMMMMM!!!!!! My family loved them.

I have tried many Banana Nut Bread recipes; and I would like to take my hat off to the chef. This bread could not be any moist and delicious than it is! I don’t have to look any further for a high rating banana bread beacuse this rates 10 out of 5; it will be my recipe. Thank you for sharing
