Cream Cheese Cookies I

NOT GOOD AT ALL. I even used the suggested changes. I put in 8oz of cream cheese and cut back on the flour. They still tasted like bland flour cookies. I can't believe the ratings are as high as they are. I have never rated anything this low, but the consistency wasn't good, the flavor wasn't good, total waste. We threw them away after we each ate one...

Marshmallow Fondant

I made my first fondant this weekend and this recipe was great. I was terrified I was in way over my head and it came out perfect. I didn't end up using all of the sugar...I thought it became very dry. If you are going to make things like flowers, etc. you will want to let the fondant sit a few hours first, then form the shapes and let them harden for a good 2 days before putting them on the cake. Super easy recipe for a beginner and everyone actually thought it tasted pretty good too!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

This was really good. I will say that it didn't need to cook as long as the recipe calls, maybe 5 minutes less. Also, I added a pretty/sweet touch. I melted a half cup of the semi-sweets over the stove and then drizzled it over the strawberries and confectioners sugar topping. It looked really nice, and made the strawberries so yummy. Best eaten right out of the oven.

Taqueria Style Tacos - Carne Asada

We made these for a super bowl party and then just set everything individually on the table and did serve yourself. They were very well received! Everyone loved them and came back for seconds. Warning...they are a bit spicey!

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

This is a great recipe. I doubled the recipe and served them at a housewarming party and they were gone...fast! Doubling the recipe left me with quite a bit filling leftover, so I spread it on dinner crackers for a snack the next day, YUM!

Sirloin Tips and Mushrooms

These were so good! We didn't even put them on noodles, just ate them as the main course. I'd recommend getting really tender/quality meat, because cooking it this long makes it a little tough. Marinating for 4-5 hours would also help soften the meat if you got lower quality beef.

Linzer Tarts

My family has made these cookies for generations and I wanted to try a slightly different recipe. TIPS: Don't be afraid to flour the dough as you roll to keep it from sticking. The cookies won't break with you cut the holes in the top if you don't overcook them. Cut the holes IMMEDIATELY after you get them out of the oven while still hot to keep them soft while cutting the hole. Dip the cookies in powdered suger IMMEDIATELY after getting them out of the oven to get the sugar to really stick to the cookie. They are hard work...but there is no better cookie. And there won't be a soul who doesn't want the recipe.

Peanut Butter Balls III

These were GREAT. I have had them before w/o chocolate, and I didn't have a lot of time, so I just dusted them with powdered sugar. They were awesome. It made so many that I took about a dozen to work the next day. EVERYONE raved. This is a great party snack or easy desert.

Creme Brulee II

This was awesome. My boyfriend is a MAJOR cooking snob and he was SO down on me when I said I was going to make creme brulee. He basically laughed in my face and said "impossible". Whit this recipe, it IS possible. I followed the reviews and made it with 4 eggs, and I also upped the cooking time to EXACTLY 45 minutes. It couldn't have come out more perfect. He was definitely eating his words and I got a huge apology. This is going to be SO great to make at dinner parties and such, as it will SUPER impress. I gave it 4 stars ONLY because of the edits that it needed. Stick the the 4 egg yolks and 45 minutes and you'll be SET!

Key Lime Pie IX

This was a GREAT recipe. I cut back on the lime juice to 1/3 cup. My only suggestion is to let it cool after cooking for at least 3 hours. This will let it really set up well, and give it enough time to chill all the way through. I served it a little prematurely, and it got runnier faster. It was even better the second day. Everyone thought I was a master chef!
