Salsa Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
Quick and Easy! Since we like things a bit spicy, I added some hot sauce and about 1 TB cumin. Combined everything but the cheese into the baking dish then topped with cheese. Served with more hot sauce and sour cream. Yum...

Guinness® Corned Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
A friend made this and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD! I was trying to figure out what she had used in it. So I was saying.. kinda sweet, yet there is this other, OH it is marinated in beer? I was close. It was SO good, and I asked her for the recipe and she sent me here. Fantastic and looks really easy. I will make this myself. Thanks

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2010
Wow! I don't really care for Teriyaki but this was AWESOME. I did make a few changes. I used 1/4 c packed brown sugar instead of the white. I didn't have cider vinegar so I replaced it with red wine vinegar and used fresh ginger and pepper. I went by other reviews and lined the pan. I used 6 pcs of legs/thighs in an 8X8 and had enough sauce. I also covered the first 30 min and uncovered 25 min. I will make again!!

Italian Style Beef Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
EXCELLENT! I was out of a seasoning mix I use and looking for a recipe that used the spices instead of a mix. Found this one and deviated slightly. I added an Aus Jur mix to the water and the last 30-45 min of cooking added some whole button mushrooms and served on the side with peppercinis. So good! Lot of broth left for soup!

Chocolate Cobbler

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2007
This ROCKS! I made exactly as written and it turned out great. Fantastic chocolate "cobbler" with rich chocolate sauce to dip over it. I served with cool-whip and all we could do was say.."MMM" with every bite.

Guy Approved Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2007
EXCELLENT! My husband finally told me he didn't like my meatloaf, so I was out to find something new. This did it! I only had 1 lb of gr beef, so I simply cut back a little on the crackers and chips and everything else I kept the same. Simply the best meatloaf I have ever had...the bacon added a nice extra flavor. Will make many many more times ~ THANKS

Pumpkin Wheat Honey Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2012
Simply awesome! Moist and sweet - like a little cake. White flour can be used instead of wheat, but I think I like the wheat best. I increased the pumpkin to 1 cup and baked it just a little longer. Don't skimp on the nuts. We end up "sharing" with everyone . We even had a person supply the nuts so that I would make them a batch! Fantastic - freezes well too.

Anise Seed Borrachio Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2006
Very Unique is what my husband said and I agree. I think I will make these every Christmas! I frosted these with a butter frosting with some rum flavoring mixed in (could use straight rum if you rather). The only problem I had with these is that I couldn't stop eating the scraps from the cut-outs! I bet it would have made more cookies if I wouldn't have ate the dough!

E-Z Chicken Tortilla Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2012
I was skeptical as I needed to make this a day in advance and not bake it. I was really worried that it would become soggy. I baked it uncovered and it was great!! I didn’t have enough salsa, so I added spaghetti sauce to fill the measurement. I did add a can of rinsed black beans, some garlic powder, onion powder and cumin. (I would have added the spices even if I had had all the salsa). Making it again tonight!

Creamy Swiss Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2012
Easy and quick! I did season the chicken with some garlic and steak seasoning (includes salt). Family ate it all and loved it. Licked up the left over sauce.

Green Chicken Enchilada

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2011
I took the advice of others and added a soup spoon of enchilada sauce to the tortillas. I didn't have green sauce, so I used regular red enchilada sauce. I added hot pepper flakes to the sauce as it was mild. I sauted the meat with chili, garlic powder and cumin. I also sauted onion and green peppers adding them to the tortilla's. Any left over filling I spread on top of the enchiladas. Turned out very good - will make again.

Man's Way Sausage

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2007
I would have given this a 3 - however, I used Idaho potatoes and that could have made this much drier than the recipe actually is. Basic meat and potatoes without any real flavor. I added whipping cream to the eggs and poured them in before baking and baked 30 min. Maybe I didn't use enough cream - mine also stuck to the bottom of the pan. The guys agreed it was a 2-3 star (the way I made it). I had to add sour cream and salsa for my taste

Anchovy Linguine

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
Easy to make - however, we thought this was just ok. I added a small onion, chopped and about 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes per the suggestion of other reviews. I omitted the parsley since I didn't have fresh. I like ceasar salad dressing with real anchovies, however this just wasn't what I expected. My son ended up adding salt to the dish and thought that made it better. Will not make again. Hoping left overs will taste better.

The Easiest Blackened Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2011
Nice spicy taste, but a little too much. We added onions and served with white rice. Really liked adding some blue cheese dressing on the side for dippig. (cooling) Next time I would cut the pepper to 1t and may cut the worchestershire down a little.

Black Bean Rice Burgers

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2012
I added garlic and onion powder, but forgot to read reviews until the patties would not hold together. I added oatmeal to the remaining mixture which helped a lot. However, these were very bland and simply tasted like black beans. Will not make again.

Rum Glazed Raisin Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2006
More like a cake than a bar cookie. I kept waiting for it to brown and only did around the edges. Good flavor and love the icing, but overall was disappointed. The recipe is written in such a way that it does not define what the icing is and what ingredients go into the bar - I could figure it out, just think it should be defined better.

Curried Salmon Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
Since I didn't have curry paste, I simply used curry powder. I found this VERY bland, so I tried garlic powder, tumeric, salt and added more curry. I thought that maybe the salmon would add to it's flavor. However, I feel it simply ruined some otherwise good salmon. It was moist, but really didn't have any flavor, what I did taste was bitter (maybe from too much curry or the tumeric). Sorry, we didn't care for it.
