Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
Wow, what an incredible recipe! We enjoyed the taste of substituting 1/2 and 1/2 for about 1/2 of the milk as we prefer a creamier texture. I also baked it the last 5 minutes in a casserole dish instead of the stove-top and it turned out awesome. Thanks!

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
These are a great recipe. Everyone needs to know about an old way of "chocolate dipping" and I really believe you'll like this method much better than almond bark or using shortening. Use white chocolate, milk chocolate, or semi-sweet chocolate chips, melt in a double boiler with a half stick of Gulf wax. This is also known as paraffin wax and is found in any baking aisle. It hardens with the chocolate to create a shell, tastes awesome, and is completely digestable. I learned about it from my MIL for any dipping recipes (including strawberries). Hope this helps someone!

Best Ever Cinnamon Pull Aparts

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2008
These were excellent! I was unable to find biscuit tins weighing 10 oz. so since I was doulbing it (we have a family of 8) I bought one of the four packs. I used a whole stick of butter and added a tsp. of vanilla. I cut back to 1 &1/3 cup sugar and 3 Tbsp. cinnamon. I cut up the biscuits as directed and put them in a 9x13 greased cake pan. Melt the butter, add the cinnamon/sugar mixture and stir and cook for a while to cut down on the grainy texture. I added 1 cup pecan pieces when it was at the texture I wanted and since this thickened it up, spoon it all over the top. Bake for 25 minutes and like the whole family said,"de-lish!"

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
My family truly enjoys these, and since I don't have a bread machine, I made them the old-fashioned way. Great recipe and thanks to everyone who wrote in the necessary adaptations to make them from scratch. Thanks!

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
These are great and they definitely taste just like those served in a famous restaurant in our area. Don't suggest double battering the chicken though, it just doesn't taste the same. Follow the recipe!

Tasty Collard Greens

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
Having roots in the deep south, I must say the turkey surprised me... I had thought the only meat for greens was fatback or hamhocks a very nice change to say the least! I want to suggest for those who don't know, it's easier when chopping the whole leaves if you lay 4-5 leaves on top of each other and roll them up cigar-style and "slice" across about every 1/4 inch or so. We also add Louisiana Hot Sauce at the table to taste.

Cream Cheese Penguins

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
At risk of repeating everyone... these are sooo cute! Make sure you get the jumbo olives though- I used mediums and it made it very difficult, although the baby ones turned out great. I also chopped some monteray jack cheese and made my tray look like an ice flow. Thanks for the great idea!

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
No other way to say it, this is the best trifle I have ever had. I used sliced strawberries instead of the candy, and it was truly amazing, and not time-consuming at all! Thanks!

Peanut Butter Cake II

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
I made this cake per my son's request for his birthday and overall, this cake is excellent... the taste is perfect, but it is a little dry. I noticed it when I was pouring the batter into the pans. I may try to adapt it, but it truly is a great peanut butter cake recipe! Thanks for submitting it

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2009
My husband and I like the sauce, but our kids did not. My picky eater said, "Mom! What's wrong with the noodles!" I don't make pre-packaged noodles... I'll make it again for us, something different for them. Thanks for the recipe.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
The taste is great even though I forgot to add the worcestershire sauce... we let it rest for a half hour and the sauce never really thickened- it was a watery consistency. We all loved this recipe and will use again- but I'll thicken next time for sure.

My husband and I LOVE this recipe! Kids however do not... oh well, more for us! If you buy the bags of Dole coleslaw you'll need 2 bags when following the amounts stated in the recipe. Awesome!

This amount fed my family of 8 for dinner and lunch the next day! Everyone loves it. Tried it using homemade marinara and found it wasn't cost efficient. Love this recipe! We have it once a month!

Rhubarb Strawberry Crunch

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2009
This is a great recipe! I frequently make "new" recipes for our family, and this is a keeper. I was worried the kids might not like the rhubarb taste, but I was fighting them off as they wanted to finish the pan! Thanks!

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2009
Everyone loved these at our family gathering. Even though I accidentally burned them. I baked as directed for 20 minutes and the bacon wasn't crisp yet, so I put them under the broiler. The bacon crisped up nicely, but the brown sugar burned. So for me, bake as long as necessary and WATCH them! Delicious in spite of it, and I served them with Jack Daniel's bbq sauce for dipping. Great recipe!
