Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
These cookies came out fantastic. The only changes that I made was to add a pinch of cinnamon, use 3/4 cup white sugar and 1 1/4 cups brown and cashew nuts instead of walnuts. Make sure your dough does not start to get too warm. If it does, put it in the frig. for a few minutes and do not handle dough. Great recipe!

Bread Machine Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2014
These were the best rolls that I've ever made and they looked like they came from the bakery! Instead of using powdered milk, I used 1/4 cup of buttermilk and added about 2 tablespoons of extra flour to compensate for the extra liquid. When I let the rolls rise, I covered my pan with saran wrap and placed them in an UN HEATED oven with a bowl of warm water on the rack below them. They turned out excellent! Although you do not need to brush the rolls with the egg mixture, it gives it a a shiny coating, just like the better bakeries, so I recommend that you take the extra 2 min. and use the egg wash on the rolls! Great recipe.

Birthday Bones

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2013
Wow, these are very easy to make and my dogs LOVED them! You can just put a light coat of flour on the surface that you are working on, coat your hands, then press out the dough, and cut out your shapes. Very easy and quick to make. I cut these out in heart shapes, then baked for 12 minutes, flipped them over and baked another 6 minutes so both sides are browned and the cookies are crisp. Thanks for a great, easy dog treat recipe!

Good New Orleans Creole Gumbo

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2013
This is a fantastic recipe but it is a bit time consuming, so I changed the cooking method to make it quicker since I am extremely busy! I made the roux until it was light caremel color, then added some beef broth, garlic onions and seasonings. You keep wisking continously until you have a thick looking gravy. I poured the mixture in the crockpot and added more liquid and the rest of the ingredients. I used hot smoked sausage and whole skinless/bonelss chicken breasts uncooked. I cooked it for about 4 hours on high, removed the chicken breasts and shredded the chicken, and added it back to the pot. I could not find file powder but used the rest of the spices listed. It was excellent! I cut the recipe in half and filled a 6 qt crockpot to the top! Everyone raved about it and it did nto take too long to make. Note: Don't skimp on the roux, you have to make the roux on the stove top then you can add to crockpot. It only took about 15 minutes to make the roux. Thanks for a great recipe!

Cream Cheese Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
Wow, this is the best pound cake that I've ever made/tasted! I used all vanilla extract and it came out great. A few tips..DO NOT open the open to check on this, as it will fall if you do (as I found out the first time I made this)! I also used regular flour and reduced each cup by 2 tbspns as others suggested, and make sure that you beat well after adding each egg as it will give you more of an airy texture but yet still have that pound cake consistency. Fabulous recipe, thank you!

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
This Irish Soda bread was delicous and very easy to make. Like others, I used my Kitchen Aid Mixer with the bread attachment on, so I did not have to hand knead. I did not have buttermilk or regular milk so I used evaporated milk and 1/2 the sugar and it turned out fantastic. Next time I think I wil add some raisons.

Buttermilk Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2014
Wow, this bread is great! I used a package of yeast and made the dough in my bread machine. When the dough was done, I took it out, punched it down and put it in a buttered bread plan covered with saran wrap. I let it proof in a cold oven with a warm bowl of water sitting on the rack under the bread, for 40 minutes. When it was done, I took it out, removed the saran wrap and water from the oven, preheated oven to 350 degrees and brushed the top of the bread with an egg/water mixture then baked for 30 minutes. This is one of the best breads that I've made. Thanks for the recipe.

Cheesecake Cookie Cups

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2008
I made these this past weekend for a Christmas party and they were a hit! I baked the cookie for 12 min, and it was a litte over done so next time I'll go with the 10 min. time frame. The cheesecakes did not drop in the center like many other recipes. They were nearly perfect and even better topped with cherries or chocolate and caramel sauce!

Apple Crisp II

This turned out fantastic with a few adjustments. I used 1/2 the sugar suggested, used maple and brown sugar instant oat packages (2) single serve packages, added a little all spice, doubled the cinnamon and used 1/2 the water. By the way, the 2nd time I made this I used 1/2 sugar and 1/2 splenda and you could not tell the difference. Great recipe.

No Bake Cookies III

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2014
I did what others suggested and reduced sugar to 1 1/2 cups and boiled for 2.5 minutes at a rolling ball. I coated a medium sized ice cream scoop with non stick spray and used that to form the cookies and they look great! TIP: You have to keep stirring this or it can burn. This was my first try at these and they came out great. Thanks for the easy recipe.
