Love to experiment and try new recipes. Especially love those that contain ingredients commonly found in the pantry. There is nothing better when I cook litteraly a TON of food and it is gone within 2 days! Plus what better way to get a college kid home on every weekend?
My favorite things to cook
Venison, Venison, Venison, and some more Venison
My favorite family cooking traditions
I enjoy cooking long and slow. However the best part is making the biggest mess possible for the hubby to clean up!!!!
My cooking triumphs
Inventing Tuna Chowder and Salmon Spaghetti when I couldn't get the boys to eat seafood. It's now one of their favorite dishes.
Another triumph was when I was asked by our youngest how a turkey gets it's stuffing. I calmly explained that throughout the year, the farmers feed the turkeys bread so that by the Thanksgiving and Christmas you are able to cook the turkey, stuffing and all! He actually believed me for a year!
My cooking tragedies
My cooking tragedy would have to be the very first time I make a Christmas turkey (ages ago). We had just moved into and apartment and that morning I had prepared everything except the stove decided to die on us! There was no way I could bother our landlord on a holiday, so I thought, others cook in the microwave...I can too! HAHAHAHA need I even explain any further? We still laugh about it to this day.
