Chef John's Chicken and Biscuits

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2012
I admit I left out the cayenne in deference to my kids, but otherwise made as directed and WOW, is this yummy. I'm going to start stalking Chef John around this site.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2011
Delicious Soup is delicious! I added corn and used broth instead of bouillon & water but otherwise made as presented and everyone loved it. Thanks for the recipe, it's definitely a keeper.

Absolutely Fabulous Portobello Mushroom Tortellini

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2011
This was great. I used Alfredo Sauce from Rebecca's recipe on this site, and also tossed in some of the sun dried tomatoes I've been making (also with advice from AR!). Very yummy. Thanks so much.

Butternut Squash Supreme

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
I'm not a big fan of sweet squash recipes, so I really like this. I like to use chipotle cheddar and sometimes I mix in some Italian sausage, too.

Curried Coconut Chicken

YUM! I added some veggies (carrots, potatoes and peas) and just realized I forgot the sugar, but it was wonderful. Thanks so much for this recipe.

Crawfish Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
This was so good. I doubled the corn and cream cheese, and ended up using old bay and cajun seasoning (next time I'll just use the cayenne). Very easy and absolutely delicious. I'll be making this again and again.

Green Bean Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2008
Let me start by saying that there are maybe two foods in the universe that everyone in my family will eat. Since finding this recipe, I can make it three. I thought it needed low-sodium soy sauce (because it was a bit salty) and I'd like an idea for thinning out the peanut butter a bit so the sauce wouldn't be quite so thick, but my entire family raved at me not to change anything, just to make more next time. I'm a little stunned at what a huge hit it was. (I caught my stepson licking the empty bowl, having fought off my daughters for the privilege.) Thanks loads!

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
I'm still playing with this recipe because my husband thinks it's a bit too sweet but my kids love it, it's one of the few things all three of them will eat.

Seafood Piccata

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
This was just okay. The only substitution I made was to swap half of the wine with chicken broth. I ended up adding lots more garlic and some pepper at the end because there was just no flavor. Maybe if I increased and then thickened the sauce ...

Seven Layer Tortilla Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
Yum, thanks for this recipe! I took reviewers suggestions and added green chilies, corn and red onion. After one bite my stepson said, "you made two of these, right?" Inexpensive, filling and really, really yummy.
