Toasted Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2002
Pumpkin seeds SEEM like a no brainer, but they aren't. Mine always turned out funky. I used this recipe, however, and they were great! Of course I rinsed the seeds well and dried them first. I also used butter flavored cooking spray with mine. A+

Cashew Chicken II

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2002
Ok I read all the reviews. So I was prepared to "Carrie-fy" the recipe! I only used about 2 tbs of oil, 3/4 c of broth, bean sprouts instead of bamboo shoots(yuck), and I totally omitted the water cornstarch mix. (I did that cuz who needed it with the cut down liquid?) I also used some crushed garlic with the oil and I used garlic pepper and garlic salt instead of plain salt and pepper. We all ate it we all liked it. I will make it again. Thanks for posting it!!

Peking Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2002
This was very yummy. My picky and non-picky sons ate it. My oldest was disappointed when I ate the leftovers! He wanted them! I followed others advice and only used a 1/4 cup of soy sauce and adjusted the cooking time. I also added more water than called for. It was very good. (I don't even like pork, unless it is a ham, and it was great!)A+

Grilled Tofu Sandwich

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2008
This is really good. I was also my fist time eating tofu. Very tasty. My only problem was the Tahini. I like tahini but on this it is too gritty. I suggest mayonaise on both sides. I also used about a T of shredded mozzerella on my sandwich. YUM!

Chocolate Covered Caramel Surprise Cookies

These were delicious..time consuming but worth it..I used Brachs caramels..Next time I will try Kraft..caramels were a bit hard and chewy..Hoping a different brand might be more tender.

Easiest Pot Roast Ever

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2002
Yummy! I cut my roast in half just in case it wasn't a good recipe and I was so sad, because I wished I had cooked the whole thing! My son loved it and had seconds. I added more water than called for and added seasonings that I enjoy. I also (at the end) added some cornstarch to thicken the juice into gravy. It was very delicious.

Pumpkin Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
The stew was very tender. The pumpkin was beautiful. However, the recipe was not to my liking. I jazzed it up with seasonings but for the most part I followed the recipe. This is more like soup than stew. No tomatoes..almost didn't add them, wish I hadn't. Next time I will use MY beef stew recipe and I will add a thickening agent as I like my stew thick not soupy. It was fun though. It got eaten.

Cream Corn Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 22, 2002
I read the reviews first. so I played with the recipe a little. Added some spices that I like. The pork cooked a little unevenly. And the creammed corn was so runny looking that my hubby wouldnt touch any of it. I myself only ate the pork. On to my point, the pork was very very tender and juicy. I say it is a great way to make pork because so often pork gets really dry. Nexty time I make it I will cook in the corn and then throw the corn away before my hubby sees it. It really did look like a gloppy mess. I know he will like the tender pork the corn yields though.

Cheesy Chicken Pot Pie

Reviewed: May 22, 2002
I really enjoyed this recipe. I like others altered this or that. I reduced the amount of liquid as suggested. Mine was still not creamy. I think I didnt let it cook long enough when I added the cornstarch. Still was an excellent dinner. I may make it with home made chicken gravy as a sauce next time. In whatever form I will use this recipe again. The cheese was definatly a brilliant touch. I love cheese.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2008
This was great. I was apprehensive to try it. I have had a couple botched rice pudding attempts in my past. This is simple and delicious. I omitted the butter and raisins, but added 1/4 tsp of cinnamon. I also followed some suggestions about when to add sugar and cooking times. Next time I will increase the sugar from 1/3 c. to 1/2 c.( I like sweet) This was yummy and definatly a keeper!

These were ok..I am the only one who liked them..got the thumbs down from both kids and the husband. The meatballs themselves were tasty..it is the sauce that was at issue.

Cheez-It® Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2002
My husband who "claims" he is not picky, LOVED IT! My two youngs boys loved it as well. It is very yummy! : ) Also I used sunshine Mild Chedder saltine crackers instead of cheezits. It was what I had but now I know it works and it is less expensive than the other.

Artichoke Spinach Dip

Reviewed: May 16, 2009
Gave it 4 stars because I do a bunch of tweaking. But it is a great base recipe. I followed several suggestions by others(more garlic, more spinach, romano cheese as well as parmesean.) I have made this several times. I absolutely LOVE IT!
