Sweet Potato Pie I

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2009
Very Good Recipe and great teasting pie. I did take the advice of other reviewers and made the following changes. I use evaporated milk instead of regular milk. I add a 1/4 tsp of cloves and ginger and 2 tbsp of lemon juice. The lemon enhances the tast of the potatoes. I halve the white sugar and replace with brown sugar. Last, I also added a 1 tbsp flour to the mixture to thicken up a bit and I still found the mixture & Pie to be runny. I may need to cut down on the evaporated milk or add additonal flour.

Rib Eye Steaks with a Soy and Ginger Marinade

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
Terriffic! The steak turned out fantastic, but more importaintly then the steak, the Marinade is awesome. This marinade will replace my old favorite standby "Basnote" marinade.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2009
This is deffenitly a keeper. I did make a couple of changes, however. I baked for 35 minutes and warmed the sauce in a pot on the stove rather than pouring it over the chops. I also used cream of chicken rather than mushroom, since we're not mushroom fans and doubled the milk rather than using wine. You also have to be careful not to burn the chops while they are on the stove. Keep the heat low and be mindful not to burn them. It turned out fabulous.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
Excellent receipt. Loved by all. Will definitely make again. Receipt easy to follow, made a couple adjustments as follows: 1/4 cup of water, soaked the cut and peeled apples in lemon water. Also, I tossed the apples in the cinnamon and sugar mixture, and I added some 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg to that mixture.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2012
First time making pancakes from scratch turned out great. Following the recipe exactly I've learned that a serving of pancake amounts to just one pancake per person. Next time I will have to increase the serving amount to acommodate my growing family.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2012
This is a keeper! This Cobbler was enjoyed by all. Didn't have fresh peaches on hand, so I use canned peaches instead. I guestamted each "drained" can equaled two peaches. The Cobbler turned out fantastic, albeit, a bit sweet. I will cut down on the suger, for the topping by half, in the future. I can't wait til I try this recipe with fresh peaches from my tree. Thanks for sharing.

Kielbasa and Cabbage

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2009
Excellent. The added Kielbasa was a nice twist to an old favorite. In addition to the recipe ... I sauteed the onions and garlic in the bacon drippings, then added 4-5 microwaved cubed red potatoes, to par-cook for 3 minutes, before adding them to the cabbage. I also pan-fried the kielbasa separately to get it nice and browned, then added it for the final 10-15 minutes.

Made this for pot lucks, birthday parties, pool parties and left overs are great if you can manage to keep any for your next meal. This recipe is so versitail and the pulled pork can be used in many different dishes if used before adding the BBQ sauce.

Roasted Rack of Lamb

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2012
This turned out terrific. My first time ever cooking or eating lamb. I wanted to try something new and different for Easter this year and this was it. The entire family raved on how good it turned out. I followed the advise of others and added minced garlic to the pan along with a few dashes of Worcestershire sauce. Yummy, yummy it tasted good and it's now in my tummy. However, either my oven tempeture is not set correctly or the time recommended is off for the size of Rack Of Lamb (2.38lbs) that I purchased. The lamb was room tempeture prior to cooking. Even so, when it was all said and done it took approx. 1hr to cook the lamb to medium well. Other than having to warm up my entire Easter meal over again twice. Everything tuned out delishiously. The Rack of Lamb was worth the wait. I'm well please. Thank you for posting. This is deffinetly a keeper and possibly the beginning of an Easter dinner tradition.
