Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
Wow! This was WONDERFUL! Last time I went to Olive Garden I had Parmesan Tilapia, and this recipe was 10 times better than theirs. Like another reviewer suggested, I added bread crumbs and doubled the amount of pepper. I also seasoned each side of the fillets with Old Bay. I served alongside garlic mashed new potatoes and steamed green beans. A fabulous dinner...with out a doubt I will definitely make this again soon!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
These cookies are the best! I took the advice of another reviewer and used french vanilla instant pudding mix. Very tasty. The only thing I added to the ingredients was a pinch of salt. I didn't have any brown sugar on hand so I substituted with white sugar and molasses. I cut the recipe down to 18 servings, thinking I would get 3 dozen cookies, but it turned out to be only 2 dozen. Next time I have a big event I will definitely make the full recipe. Thank you so much for these delicious little cookies!

Baked Spaghetti I

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2007
This wasn't very good to me. A lot of the ingredients are what I've been using for regular spaghetti for years, so I thought I would try it. For the longest I stood in the kitchen debating on whether or not to use the cream of mushroom soup. I decided what the heck and try it out. It was not very good. Also this recipe did not have very much flavor at all. Don't think I will try this again.

Chicken and Bow Tie Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2007
This was very tasty. The only thing I did differently is that I used onion instead of red bell pepper (just didnt have it). I for sure will be making this again, but I will be halving the amount of cream cheese. I felt the sauce was too rich. Oh, and wow this recipe made A LOT of food. It was still good the next day warmed over.

Lazygirl's Ground Turkey Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2007
I'm giving 4 stars because I did have to change a few things. First of all, I had to cut the recipe down to only 2 servings (just for me and hubby). I let the ground turkey and onions cook for about 15 minutes to make sure the onions were completely cooked through. I then added some garlic powder to the skillet along with the chicken bouillon. I also added about 1 to 2 tsp of chili powder, I just felt like the meat mixture needed a little something extra. I didn't have any cream of mushroom soup, so I added cream of chicken. Instead of using water I used some low sodium chicken broth. I let all of the above simmer for about 30-40 minutes. I always enjoy foods that have been cooked longer for some reason. My husband and I really liked this recipe with my modifications. I served the meat mixture over cooked wide egg noodles. I think next time I will have to incorporate some mushrooms into the meat mixture. All in all, this is a keeper and I will definitely make again soon! Thanks from one lazy girl to another!!!

Crab Cakes II

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2007
I'm sorry but I just really did not enjoy these crab cakes very much at all. I used fresh crab meat that had been packaged at my grocery store so it had the consistency of tunafish. I thought this would work out well since several members commented on the patties not wanting to stay together. I also added the Old Bay seasoning like others suggested. I didnt have any problems with the patties not staying together, but I just didn't like the taste of these at all. I want a recipe that has some sort of stuffing inside. These tasted kind of bland and I think with the stuffing you get a variety of flavors (not just all crab meat).

This sauce was really tasty. I thought it added a nice flavor that probably couldn't be found in a can. 5 Stars.

Enchiladas

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2007
I liked these enchiladas pretty well. My bf said they were "alright and okay" Like another reviewer suggested, I made the 10-min. enchilada sauce from this site. The sauce was really good. For this recipe I also added more spices to the ground meat and also a can of mild green chiles. I think the chiles really added a nice taste to the enchiladas. I most likely will make this one again.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2007
I loved these! I made them for my sweetie on Valentines Day and we both really enjoyed them. I followed the recipe exactly (with the 2 tbsp shortening). I didn't have any problems with clumps or lumps. I heated the chocolate and shortening over medium heat and then when it was all melted I turned it down to warm/low while I dipped the strawberries. I think this might have prevented any lumps to form because the chocolate never got a chance to cool. Will definitely make these again and i'm looking forward to trying it with other fruit.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2007
I really like this recipe. I've made it twice. I didn't have any cooking sherry so I used about 1/4 cup of dry red wine. I also added a 4 oz. can of sliced mushrooms and I used about 1 1/2 cups of beef broth (to make more gravy). I served this with mashed potatoes and green beans. This gravy is excellent over the potatoes.

Broiled Herb Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2007
I really enjoyed this chicken. However, I did make a few adjustments. First of all I didn't use any butter to make it healthier. I used 1/2 cup of e-virgin olive oil instead. I added about 1/8 cup of balsamic to the oil mixture along with 1 tsp of onion powder. I George Forman'd the chicken for about 5 minutes turning once. It was excellent. My boyfriend ate 2 big peices of this chicken. I served alongside freshly steamed green beans. Will definitely make this one again!!!! Oh and next time I will let it marinate for about 24 hours.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2006
My husband and I really enjoyed this dish. I used chicken tenders instead of breast fillets and it took only 20 mins to cook instead of 30. I also added just a little bit more parsley than the recipe called for. The cheese "crust" on top was extra delicious. Will be sure to make this one again!

Linda's Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2006
This lasagna turned out pretty well. I used no boil lasagna noodles to cut down on preparation time. I also used ricotta instead of cottage cheese. Next time I don't think I will let the sauce simmer for a whole hour (maybe only 30 mins) because it seemed like it got a little too thick. But, I was satisfied, and think I will try this one again! (Be prepared for lots of dirty dishes!)

Baked Macaroni and Cheese III

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2006
I have to say I was disappointed in this recipe. I don't know if it was something that I did to make it turn out wrong or what. I halfed the recipe (since its just me and my husband)and it seemed to taste like scrambled eggs and cheese with noodles.

Lizzy's Creamy Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2006
I made this dish using chicken tenders to cut down on the amount of cooking time. I took the suggestion of other users and only used 8 oz of sour cream, however I did use a full package of lipton onion soup mix and it turned out to be a little bit too salty. I'm sure I will make this again, but will try to cut down on the soup mix. Also, I lined the baking dish with foil before placing it in the oven and this proved a very easy clean up.
