Classic Goulash

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2012
Used homemade tomato sauce (spaghetti sauce). Didn't use diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, or seasoned salt. Tasted like mom used to make. Served with a simple salad.

Aunt Bev's Glorified Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2006
These are really great sandwiches! Thanks for the post! However, they aren't for someone on a diet! I didn't have any Italian bread so I just used white bread & added a touch of oregano to the egg mixture. I used spicy brown mustard instead of Dijon mustard because I didn't have any & I cut it down to only 1 tsp.

Excellent recipe! Decided to add just a tad more liquid smoke & some BBQ sauce to it & drained before serving on Kaiser rolls. Served with BBQ flavored potato chips. Made an excellent meal!

Pico de Gallo Chicken Quesadillas

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2006
Absolutely YUMMY!! I made the following changes however, I used green chili peppers instead of jalapeno peppers. I also added more cheese & threw in some mild cheddar cheese as well. Before cooking the chicken I added salt, pepper, garlic powder & onion powder to taste. I used frozen vegetables (onions & green peppers), however that makes the flour tortillas a bit soggy. Next time I will allow the vegetables to completely thaw and then drain them.

Potato Curry

Reviewed: May 13, 2007
Used 1 T. & 2 tsp. butter & 2 tsp. olive oil instead of ghee (for approximately 2 servings). Added a smidge more of the dry ingredients than called for. First used mustard ground but then discovered I actually did have the seeds. Added a small amount of dried minced garlic about ¼ tsp. Could maybe cut down on the amount of water added next time, seemed to be just a tad too watery at the end. Made with Jerra fried rice (from this site) & Murg Makhani.

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
For Xmas Eve, I made them a couple days ahead of time. Once brown enough took out the toothpicks and plan on putting them back end once finished on Xmas Eve. Sprinkled the brown sugar after done so that when warming them back up on Xmas Eve they will burn appropriately and not burn and then I will put the toothpicks back in. Serving with BBQ sauce.

Awesome! Great change from the regular old grilled cheese sandwich. I used a small amount of garlic salt & added a small amount of Italian cheese blend along with the mozzarella cheese.

Blue Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2006
I made this for my parents for Thanksgiving dinner, but I got a taste before taking it over to them. It was absolutely the best cranberry sauce I've ever tasted! Forget the canned stuff & the jellied stuff - no wonder I didn't like cranberry sauce before, but this was absolutely tasty! I will be making it for myself next time.

Crab Salad III

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2006
I changed this recipe just a little. I didn’t add the tomatoes (was out of them) or green bell pepper. Instead I substituted with green onions. Instead of artifical sweetener, I doubled what it called for for the sweetener & used white sugar. This was absolutely tasty!! Made this for my mom for Thanksgiving, but I got a taste. I'm making it just for me next time. :)
