Zesty Hominy and Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2007
This was surprisingly good. I wasn't sure how hominy would go with cheese but this was a winner. Added a couple slices of good quality American cheese slices. Served with Unbelievable chicken from this site along with grilled bread slices and baked potatoes. Thanks for the recipe!

Omelet in a Bag

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2007
This worked out perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised how well this turne out. Don't expect it to be exactly an omelet in the traditional sense but it still works nicely. I put onions & mushrooms in it and topped it with cheese after it was done.

Breaded Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2007
This was pretty tasty. The breading could have been a little crispier so maybe next time I'll do what another reviewer said and only leave it covered half the time while baking. It could maybe be dressed up a bit too with a little more spices. Served with bisquits and mashed potatoes.

Sesame Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2007
These were good but not as flavorful as I thought they would be. Next time I try them I will try marinating overnight instead of the 2 to 3 hours. I served this with Pad Thai from a box.

Easy Corn Fritters

Reviewed: May 23, 2007
Used a lot more flour & a little corn meal tripling it (at 2 servings), in place of potato pancake mix. I also used cream of corn instead of whole kernel corn. I agree with the person who said don’t worry about left-overs, I reheated in the oven at 350 & tasted just as yummy. This does take some time to make, but is well worth it!

This smelled wonderful as it cooked on the grill & tasted pretty good too. I used green leaf lettuce instead of bibb & leeks instead of scallions. served with soba noodles.

Slow Cooker Spare Ribs

Reviewed: May 16, 2007
Added a very small amount of liquid smoke and added some southern hickory seasoning plus some ground black pepper. Doubled the sauce and added 4 chicken wings (for 2 servings). Next time, I think I won’t boil it before hand but then again I used baby back ribs (the only ones I will use) instead of spare ribs.

Italian Pork Tenderloin

This is decent. I'll probably try it again and update my rating when I do. Didn’t have fresh sage so used ¼ tsp. rubbed sage (scaled to 2 servings).

Chicken Manicotti Alfredo

Had to use jumbo shells instead because when I opened my box of Manicotti they were all broke so luckily I had the shells on hand. Worked out just fine. Served with Ceasar salad & fried bread.

Sparkling Grilled Ham

Reviewed: May 15, 2007
The only changes I made was that I used red grape juice instead of sparkling white grape juice & whole cloves instead of ground cloves. Ended up grilling on a indoor grill pan due to severe weather in the area. Served with baked potatoes and corn. This was delicious! Thanks for the recipe!

Jeera Fried Rice

Reviewed: May 13, 2007
Used basamati rice instead of long-grain. Used 1 tsp. of cumin powder instead of 2 tsp. cumin seeds (for 2 servings), I didn’t have the seeds. I ground the cloves myself as I didn’t have ground cloves either. Seemed a bit bland, could possibly use some spicing up. Served with potato curry (on this site) and Murg Makhani.

Potato Curry

Reviewed: May 13, 2007
Used 1 T. & 2 tsp. butter & 2 tsp. olive oil instead of ghee (for approximately 2 servings). Added a smidge more of the dry ingredients than called for. First used mustard ground but then discovered I actually did have the seeds. Added a small amount of dried minced garlic about ¼ tsp. Could maybe cut down on the amount of water added next time, seemed to be just a tad too watery at the end. Made with Jerra fried rice (from this site) & Murg Makhani.
