Kevin's Sea Shells

Kevin! This is fantastic! I made half recipe and added diced red bell pepper, to use it up. This is happening again soon!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2011
My lasagna is always runny no matter whose recipe I use! I followed this exactly! WOW! Simply marvelous! And the sauce stayed nice and firm, not a drippy mess!

Grilled Zucchini Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2010
WoW! You can do so many things with this simple, but very tasteful recipe! I let my imagination run wide, with basil, chicken, mushrooms, and red peppers. I'll do these again very shortly, but totally different than before! Rod

Best Hamburger Ever

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
I was true to the recipe, no changes. Except for how you might grill your burger. De Sterno said it best in 2008, meat loaf, yup, you bet.

Slow Cooker Venison Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2010
I'm not a hunter so I do not know about cooking wild things. I looked at this recipe, thought it would be good, might be heavy on the onion with the soup and the slices of onion. This was great! But heavy on the onion!. I would leave out the sliced onion, maybe use veggies or potatoes.

Grilled Flat Iron Steak with Blue Cheese-Chive Butter

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
I have used this cut of beef 3 times with the blue cheese butter. You can do many things with the blue cheese butter after the flat iron. I never knew about the flat iron steak, WOW! Very hard to find here. Usually a prepackaged deal, not fresh, even at the butcher! Well worth the effort to find this cut of beef!

Roasted Easter Ham

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
A blustery weekend in Wisconsin, good for roasting a ham on the grill. This ham was GREAT! I used honey (local)instead of maple syrup. As others suggested, added some horserdish, 1 tbsp, a well. Roasted on barbi to 160F, 3 hrs (9 lb. ham)

Red Skinned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
I was seeking a potato salad to experiment with as I wanted to try grilled/smoked potatoes. This one was excellent! Followed exactly except I Par boiled the reds and put on kabob skewers. Grilled them on direct heat with mesquite wood chips until easily pierced with fork. Tendious but worth the lovely, smoky flavor!

Alfredo Mostaccioli

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2007
AHH! This sounded so French to me, so I sauteed mushrooms in butter and fine white wine, which I added at the very end and mixed together. I followed advice from many posts, ie no salt, a little roasted chicken(leftover) instead of smoked salmon, and nutmeg. Of course I always use garlic, freshly sauteed as well. It's gone, family loved it, so I get a sandwich for lunch tomorrow. It is not your thick alfredo sauce most of us are acustom to, more of a thin, rich(wine is nice) French sauce.

Turkey Mercedes

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2006
This was my 26 thanksgiving turkey, so I thought a new recipe might be nice for a change. I must admit this recipe requires more work than I usually put in to the bird(s). I was faithful to the recipe, though I questioned the 3 heads of garlic (Too much, and my wife and family are Italian!). The result was okay, not a bird to shout about. Most guests commented that it was an average bird, not up to my usual work of years past.
