I am a g-mother of 1 & step g-mother of 4. I love to do needlework, research on my computer. As a family we go to NA pow-wows 3-5 times ea. year as well as tribal gathering 3-4 times a year. For these we camp out, so I enjoy sleeping in a tent. This is kind of important as I have been confined to a wheelchair for over 36 years. We love cookin out in cast iron pots, & I look for new recipies for these times.
My favorite things to cook
Oreintal Stir Fry is top on the list quickly followed by cheesy potato soup. But I love doing kabobs on the grill most.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Any time we get the whole family togather, we have to have at least 2-doz, deviled eggs. Pineapple pie is a tradition that has been in the family for ever, and the recipie is a family secret. For the last 20 years cheesecake has also become a tradition.
My cooking triumphs
Getting a divinity recipie to come togather and harden like is was suppose to. We moved down here by a large lake in Missouri 6 years ago, & getting my divinity to firm up so we didn't have to eat it with a spoon has been my biggest triumph of late.
My cooking tragedies
My last years pecan pies. I used my g-fathers recipe, and it called for butterscotch pudding...it refused to setup. The pies were so runny you had to eat them with a spoon. They had a good flavor, but I'll go back to the old way this year.
