Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2012
I followed advice from others and added a splash of Worchestershire sauce. I nearly forgot to add the garlic (a sin at our house), so I added garlic powder. I topped each burger with a slice of swiss cheese and a slice of american cheese. My husband was extreemly surprised to find he really liked them because his initial thought was that these were "sissy burgers". I will make these again, possibly wrapping each patty with bacon as well!

Hot Dog Onions

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2012
Though it's not a recipie I personally would try (a bit spicy for me) My husband LOVED these! He made an egg sandwich and put the hotdog onions ontop and said they are better than the family recipie for peppers! lol!

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake VII

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2012
I personally am not a big fan of pineapple but I was making Mock Lobster and had to open a can of pineapple. So what the heck! I did not use our cast iron skillet as my husband did not properly season it (again) after using. I used 2 pie pans. I also used 1/2 pineapple juice and 1/2 water (ran low). I didn't have the cherries (but figured it was just for show/fluff). I added vanilla pudding to the cake mix to make sure it wasn't dry to taste. I made 1 with the pineapple and also made one w/o; but the one w/o I used cinnamon-brown sugar butter and then coated it with the brown sugar.... YUMMY

Mock Lobster

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2012
Couldn't wait to try this! Was leery about using Soy sauce and then adding the salt; but I thought I had better not change a thing to compromise the taste. I am glad I didn't change a thing. Other than texture, this is amazingly like lobster and I WILL make this MANY MANY TIMES AGAIN! Thank you soooooo much for a Poor-mans lobster!

Alabama Pulled Pig

EXCELLENT! Made this recipie for my daughters 1st birthday and everyone raved! It starts out seeming spicy and could continue on this path if you use a spicy bbq sauce in finish. I used standard Sweet Baby Rays and WOW!!!!

Honey Mustard Dressing II

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2012
This was extremely helpful when I had no honey mustard on hand for a recipie. I did use spicy brown mustard in stead of regular prepared mustard; which takes a little of the sweetness away (which I wanted) for cooking. As a dip, I would use regular prepared mustard for more sweetness (or on a sandwich).

Stuffed Mushrooms with Spinach

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2012
Excellent! I didn't use white mushrooms. Instead I used portabella's. I also cleaned them out and finely chopped up the stem to add to the mix for seasoning. Not to mention topped them off with a smokey swiss cheese!

Beer Spice Cake

Made it as is (w/o the nuts for me), and I have to say it is my favorite cake ever! OMG! I did a vanilla drizzle on top and that was it! My daughter and I devowered it in 2 days! **I have to add, I am NOT a cake eater** but after the first one was gone, I am making a second! Sorry honey, you have to sacrifice your Bud Light! lol

Sweet Easter Quick Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2012
Did not have "dark brown" sugar, so I added molasses to the light brown sugar I had. I also used extra vanilla (cuz I love vanilla) and ommitted the raisens or mixed fruit (yuck). I have to say, mine came out VERY sweet. I will make again but adjust accordingly. Oye.... no molasses, will stay with 1 tsp vanilla and maybe cut back a little with the sugar...

Graham Crisps

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
A version of this recipie has been in my family for many many years. There are some differences and tips I can share: Heat your oven to 325, Boil your margarine, butter and sugar for only 2 minutes; remove and add 1tsp of vanilla. Pour ontop of HONEY graham crackers on a lined jelly roll pan (makes removal easier if you use parchment paper). Sprinkle with chopped walnuts and bake in heated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, NO MORE. Easily over baked and/or over boil so these times are important!

Chicken Ranch Pizza with Bacon

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
Excellent. I too used my own home made crust with seasonings and parm. cheese added to it. I also sauted sliced portabella mushrooms in 2 tbs margarine with 2 cloves of Garlic. I took one cut up chicken breast and cooked that in 2 tbs margarine and 2 cloves of garlic (we love garlic). I used a mexican blend of cheese, more parmesan cheese and aprox 1/2 tsp dried baisl. The portabellas added an excellent flavoring to this pizza!

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
I've made these on the grill and loved them. Last night I made them but our grill was out of commission so I threw them in the oven. Because I wanted to maximize the flavor with the chicken (esp with the mushrooms and onions I added to the kabobs)I cooked them in the sauce itself. Placing the kabobs in a shallow pan and cooking them 1st loosley covered at 350. Then taking the cover off to bake in the flavor. Rave reviews from everyone (even the 2 year old).
