Beer Spice Cake

Reviewed: May 21, 2012
Made it as is (w/o the nuts for me), and I have to say it is my favorite cake ever! OMG! I did a vanilla drizzle on top and that was it! My daughter and I devowered it in 2 days! **I have to add, I am NOT a cake eater** but after the first one was gone, I am making a second! Sorry honey, you have to sacrifice your Bud Light! lol

Sweet Easter Quick Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2012
Did not have "dark brown" sugar, so I added molasses to the light brown sugar I had. I also used extra vanilla (cuz I love vanilla) and ommitted the raisens or mixed fruit (yuck). I have to say, mine came out VERY sweet. I will make again but adjust accordingly. Oye.... no molasses, will stay with 1 tsp vanilla and maybe cut back a little with the sugar...

Graham Crisps

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2011
A version of this recipie has been in my family for many many years. There are some differences and tips I can share: Heat your oven to 325, Boil your margarine, butter and sugar for only 2 minutes; remove and add 1tsp of vanilla. Pour ontop of HONEY graham crackers on a lined jelly roll pan (makes removal easier if you use parchment paper). Sprinkle with chopped walnuts and bake in heated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, NO MORE. Easily over baked and/or over boil so these times are important!

We (my daughter and I) made these for my wedding. We used cocoa crispies. I think my daughter ate most of them!

Chicken Ranch Pizza with Bacon

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
Excellent. I too used my own home made crust with seasonings and parm. cheese added to it. I also sauted sliced portabella mushrooms in 2 tbs margarine with 2 cloves of Garlic. I took one cut up chicken breast and cooked that in 2 tbs margarine and 2 cloves of garlic (we love garlic). I used a mexican blend of cheese, more parmesan cheese and aprox 1/2 tsp dried baisl. The portabellas added an excellent flavoring to this pizza!

This marinade was the BEST my family ever had. Made 3 full boneless chicken breasts cut into strips and marinaded for aprox 4 hours. Next time I will make even more as the three was not enough for once!

Slow Cooker Venison Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
I made this for us two tonight and I knew that going into it that it would be a bit salty as soy sauce is salty; but adding garlic salt put it over the top. We do love salty though. Next time I will use garlic powder instead. I also will double the cream of mushroom soup and lipton onion soup mix. Add cubed new red skin potatoes, carrots, green beans and mushrooms! Excellent!!!

Grilled Chicken and Portobello Lasagna Rollups

This recipie was excellent! Even my son who hates mushrooms loved this. I didn't dice the portabellas but used baby bella's and sliced them. I also ommitted the pine nuts as I had none. Didn't miss them either.

I normally don't like french toast personally, but this was excellent. My family loved it and it was suggested that maybe we should add apples to it next time.

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
This was the BEST chicken recipie my family has tried thus far..... I tried it in the slow cooker but it ran longer than I thought so I had to crank it up high. I did not measure the amount of ranch dressing I used, just poured it on. Also used alot of cheese, chopped green onions and LOTS of bacon bits. Used a bit less margarine than the recipie. DEFINATLY will have to make it again and again and again!

EVERYONE LOVES THIS RECIPIE! And it is sooo easy to make. Just never use a cheap look alike cake mix as it obviously does not taste the same nor does it bake as plump.

Best oatmeal cookie I have ever had or made. I got the idea to use butterscotch chips from another review but forgot to add it. So as I rolled the dough to freeze (it freezes well) I rolled it into the chips. YUMMY!

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
This was so good! Can be used for a side dish or a main dish. I used western style cubed hashbrowns with green and red peppers. I also would recommend a topping I use on another simular recipie. Crushed butter crackers and melted margarine to moisten. Sprinkle ontop and allow to brown. Yummy.

Green Bean and Portobello Mushroom Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
Excellent! I used regular (on sale) mushrooms, and omitted the almonds. I substituted the cheddar cheese for french fried onions also, and I didn't have any seasoned salt so I used celery salt, onion powder, garlic powder, crushed thyme and dried parsley flakes. So good!
