Shirley Temple II

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2008
well, after reading the great reviews, I hate to leave a not so great one, however, we just thought this tasted like fizzy oj... I might decrease the amount of oj next time and see if that makes it better. It was refreshing and pretty, just not anything too spectacular.** UPDATE- Okay, we tried them again, and this time I only used 1/4 cup orange juice, used about 3/4 cup sprite and 2 TBSP grenadine... MUCH BETTER this time!!!

Swiss Steak Quick and Easy

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
I loved this. The only thing I did differently was to cook it all in the crock pot and it was delicious! The meat got really tender and the flavor was great.

Sparkling Fruit Salad

I took this to a church group and everyone loved it. The "juice" turned red from the strawberries, but it tasted great and refreshing!

Slow Cooker Spare Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2010
I cooked them in the crock pot for about 8 hours. I just poured enough Sweet Baby Ray's over to cover. I didn't mess with the other ingredients. Once they had been in the crock pot long enough to be tender, I carefully placed them on a pan, brushed them with my Tastefully Simple Smokey Bacon Grill Sauce, and broiled for a few minutes. They were Fantastic! I will most definitely use this recipe from now on.

Peanut Butter Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
I wasn't sure my girls would like these... they love my pancakes and usually we put pb on top of them, so putting the pb in the batter was a fun idea. They turned out great. I just had to watch them carefuly and I had to turn the heat down pretty low so they wouldn't get too dark. They cook a bit differently than my regular recipe.

Rich Chocolate Truffle Pie

This was SO rich and sweet. I liked the texture though. It was like fudge in a pie shell.

Chicken Teriyaki - It's a Secret

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2007
I didn't really care for this. My daughters wouldn't eat it. Maybe I needed to do something differently, but I am not in a hurry to make it again. The flavor was almost overwhelming...sorry :)

WOW! I used 2 cups of pretzels and this stuff is amazing! I read the recipe and reviews and I couldn't understand what it was about this that could be so good. Then I tasted it...oh my! I can't stop eating it! Wonderful and easy recipe. Will most definitely make again!

Fancy Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
YUM, YUM, YUM! I didn't end up having enough batter to fully cover the top and I had to bake them longer than stated. Other than those issues, a great recipe!

Honey Nut Bars

I really wanted to like these, but I just didn't. I really like dates and I like honey but these just didn't do it for me...

Sweet Pretzel Stacks

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2008
I didn't like the flavor of these at all. They were really easy to make but something about the flavor was off... not sure what it was, but I probably won't try them again :(

Mini Sour Cream Biscuits

Oh yum! These were so good. They were very easy to make. I added some grated parmesan cheese and italian herbs to the mix. After they were baked, I brushed the tops with melted butter and parmesan cheese. Delicious!!!

Sad Cake

I used toffee chips instead of the pecans and I did add a yummy glaze... but I really loved the texture of this. My whole family enjoyed it. It was sweet and chewy. Very good and nice to have something different!

Rich Danish Waffles

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2010
Well... I liked the texture of the waffles, but they were way too egg-y for our tastes. I think I would like to try this recipe again, but I will probably only use 2 eggs. My other waffle recipes use 1 egg for 2 cups of flour. I didn't find them very sweet at all... maybe because the egg taste overpowered everything else.

Play Dough Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2010
We used about 6 oz of cream cheese and 1 1/2 cups of sugar and the cookies ended up a little sweeter. We also dusted with sugar before baking. My girls had fun making shapes and swirls with the dough. I only gave it four stars though because it was a lot of work for an okay tasting cookie.

We like the flavor, but I end up adding a little orange juice or water to it because it is so thick!

Steak House Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2012
I sliced these instead of cutting into pieces. I baked them for about 30 minutes with the foil on, then stirred them gently. They looked a little dry, so I added about 1/2 cup more each of cream and milk. I baked them another 35 minutes and added the cheese. I didn't measure, just sprinkled over until it looked good. I baked about 5 minutes more to melt the cheese. We loved them. They were so creamy and good! I will be making these more often!
