Beer Batter Fish Made Great

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
the secret to ANY fried food is a constant, high heat. if you can not maintain a high heat, do not fry or it will absorb oil and be soggy. this recipe is fool proof and good for batter dipped veggies too... i eliminated the salt all together and just sprinkled it on at the table to taste..

Grilled Bacon Jalapeno Wraps

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2011
jalapeños are supposed to be hot! my sisters and i eat them as a relish, with tears rolling down our cheeks! great way to unstop sinuses! LOL... this recipe is right there next to the Jalapeño Cornbread for party food... parboiling will help reduce the bite.. but we like them hot... great recipe and easy to do.

Cranberry Stuffed Turkey Breasts

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2011
i wasn't able to find turkey breast.. but i did find turkey rolls - small, deboned turkeys rolled up in the skin with both dark and white meat- it works great with those too... great recipe and no left over carcass!

Cinnamon Griddle Cakes

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
ok, i can't get corn syrup here in Venezuela, so I use honey. and eliminate the addicional sugar.. they are less sweet but the syrup you pour on makes them sweet... no icing, just toooo sweet. buttermilk makes them lighter it seems... you just can't make these come out bad... good eating!

Bacon Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
To compensate feeling guilty for the bacon, i added a bag of frozen mixed vegetables instead of the corn. i prefer my own dumpling recipe but these were ok. and you can NEVER go wrong with a recipe that includes bacon! Enjoy!

Healthier Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2012
Really delicious... I always make it exactly like the recipe the first time and make notes of what changes to make.. this one will pretty much remain the same! i especially like baking the tortillas, my previous recipe called for fried tortilla strips.. this is healthier... thanks!

Amena's Triple Chocolate Chip Cookies

Great recipe and yes, you do NOT need a mixer to make great cookies, my Mama told me that many years ago... the videos are excellent! my daughter finds them useful as she is learning to cook and Chef John explains EVERYTHING! thanks for great videos.

Baked Denver Omelet

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2014
very nice and easy... and you don't need the baking dish if your skillet can go into the oven... i use my cast iron skillet and just eliminate the baking dish... i also like to add a potato to is a matter of taste.
