Bay Scallop Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
This was so delicious, my husband & I loved it. We didn't change a thing and it was perfect! I didn't puree anything though, just diced everything uniformly and that works out perfectly. Thanks for the great recipe!

Marinated Spicy Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2011
I've made this before but never rated it - we had it again last night and it's just great! No changes to the ingredients needed - however sometimes I just bake the chops and they're very good that way too.

Chili Dog Casserole I

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
This was excellent - a huge hit with everyone! I followed the recipe closely, but the actual items you use can affect the flavor. We use Hebrew National hot dogs, the 97% fat free, and the spicy beanless chili by Hormel (DH will not eat beans), oh and two cans of it. For the buns I tried making my own using the Buttermilk Wheat Bread recipe that I make hamburger rolls from - they were a bit dense this time but that actually worked perfectly in this, they didn't get soggy and the bottoms got a little crispy which I really liked. For the cheese - although I love cheddar, I had some Montery Jack to use up so I used half that and half sharp cheddar. I did add the onion & mustard too, that's how I like my chili dogs anyway :) Everyone really loved this and we'll have this again!

Priceless Hillbilly Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
I really loved this - I didn't know what to expect with the cream cheese in it but it was just great all together - very sweet, but pecan pie is also. Now and then a sweet treat is needed :)

Chinese Take-Out Shrimp with Garlic

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2010
I love this - I was truly crazy about it!! My DH liked it, and my step son did not (And i left out the red peppers in hopes that he'd like it - so next time I'll make it with the red pepper flakes too :) I used 1tbsp canola and 1tbsp sesame oil, yum! I didn't have fish sauce, so I used clam juice. Other than that I followed the recipe, well less garlic but will use a bit more next time too. Yum -thanks for a great recipe!

Spaghetti Pizza

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2010
This was really good - I printed this recipe when it listed 4c mozzarella and that's what we used. We didn't vary from the recipe otherwise. We did cook the pasta all the way figuring it would be necessary to keep it from being to crisp when it baked, and it kept a good texture - we added 2c mozzarella to the spaghetti, and topped with 2c then the pepperoni. I expected the guys would like it much more than I would, but I liked it much more than I expected and we'll have this again! Thank you Rob for sharing this recipe!

Scottish Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2010
This was excellent! My DS & SS & I really loved it, my DH liked it (not a fan of mashed potatoes if you can believe that!) but the flavors were so great together. The bottom was quite wet, the ham let out a lot of liquid. I had used 1 can of regular corn and one can of the creamed corn. I also put a layer of leftover shredded cheese over the ham before adding the potatoes, about 1c, I wanted to make sure my DH liked it lol. We didn't broil it though, although I'm sure that would have been a nice touch - we got a late start making this and we were all too eager for supper to wait for it to broil :) Oh and I added minced onion & parsley to the potatoes when I whipped them - yum!!

Baked Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
These were pretty good in my opinion but really good in everyone else's opinion so that works for me :). I liked that they were baked though. I only had regular bread crumbs so I added italian seasoning in addition to what the recipe calls for. I baked them on cooling racks too, they didn't get quite crispy but they weren't soggy either. We'll have these again.

Not Your Mama's Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2011
I really loved this, DH likes it and wouldn't mind having it again (he's fussy and wouldn't hesitate to say he didn't want it again if he didn't like it). It's different but so good - I made it just as it's written. Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Happy Shrimp

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2010
Delicious! I didn't change it except for making more 'sauce' as many suggested. I used 3 tomatoes, added 2/3c heavy cream and 1/2c wine. We loved this! I was nervous to add too much cayenne but next time I'll use a little more, and a little more garlic. But the flavor was good, just could use a little extra. We had it over whole wheat spaghetti - fantastic! Definitely making this regularly!!

Zucchini and Pork Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2010
We all loved this! I didn't change the recipe at all and it was fantastic. What I really appreciated was that it was a unique flavor. I never used oyster sauce before so I'm sure that made the difference, yet it didn't taste like 'seafood' in any way. We will definitely make this again!! YUM!!

This soup has great flavor! I loved it. I followed the recipe plus I added a couple of chicken breasts diced & browned. My whole family really liked this, we especially liked the crunch of the water chestnuts. I will be making this regularly!

Pecan Pie Bars I

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2014
I love these!! So delicious and pretty easy. I made a half batch as Soprano39 had done and that was the perfect amount. I did cook it longer too as many had commented about, and I'm glad I did - they weren't runny at all. I made this because my son in the air force requested them, and he & I are the only ones in the house that like pecan pie, so I was able to get most of these sent off to him leaving me with a few to enjoy too. I'll definitely make these again!

Cauliflower with Dijon Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2013
We loved this; I took the advise of many reviews and steamed the cauliflower for 4 minutes, added to a casserole pan, mixed in the "sauce" and topped with the cheese - then broiled to melt the cheese and it was really so good! My husband ate it and liked it but he thinks he'd like it even more if we used a little less mayo.

Banana Butterscotch Bread

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
My son & I loved this, came out great. I swapped 1/2c of the flour with 1/2c whole wheat flour to make it a little healthier and it was just terrific! I loved making something different from the same old banana bread. The loaves weren't tall but they weren't "heavy" either. I did have to cook it 20min longer than the recipe states though.

This was awesome, my DH really loved this. I made it just as it's written. I worried about the mayonnaise because of some of the reviews but I wanted to try it as written first and we were ok with it. We will have this again - often!!

Mother's Ham Casserole

Reviewed: May 16, 2011
I loved this! DH did liked it, just not as much as I did but he said he'd have it again. I loved the mild cheesy 'sauce' over it all. I wouldn't change a thing except maybe to make more next time!
