Cherry Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
This came out awesome - I love it!! I made an icing with the cherry juice and conf sugar and some almond extract, it was tasty but I made it too thin and it absorbed into the cake which is good too but it's not as nice looking as I imagined it would be lol but it'll get eaten, my son and his friend really like this cake too.

Tuscan Pork Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2011
This is really good, my son & DH liked it more than I did. I felt it lacked a little flavor but they really liked the flavor. So I would have given it 4 stars, but since they both really liked it, and because it was a great weeknight meal, I'll give it 5 stars :) I followed the recipe very closely, the only change I made was to serve it over whole wheat pasta instead of polenta.

Baked Zucchini Chips

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2011
These were excellent! My DH didn't expect to like them but he really thought they were great too. I did add onion & garlic powder as many reviews stated. I'll make these again - they're delicious!!

Wonton Wrappers

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2011
These worked out really well for me. I took the advise from one review to divide each ball into 9 pieces then rolled them out to the right thickness individually - that was a great tip. I filled them as I went too (made crab rangoons) and I was very pleased with this recipe.

Crab Rangoon III

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2011
These were so good! I made my own wonton wrappers, and I baked them at 375 for 15min until they just started getting browned. I sprayed them with olive oil cooking spray before putting in the oven. The filling was so tasty, my son & I really loved these.

Unbelievable Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2011
This was awesome! I cubed the chicken and cooked on skewers with peppers, onions & grape tomatoes. The chicken was so flavorful - we all loved it and I'll definitely make this again!

Caribbean Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2011
Very tasty. I followed the recipe exact - it was sweeter than I usually care for but I loved the coconut in it. My loaves took a lot longer to cook, close to an extra half hour because they stayed too moist in the middle but that could be the pans I used (stone pans seem to take longer to heat up)

Fried Onion Rings

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2011
My guys loved these, but I was disappointed. I had a really hard time coating the rings but just did the best that I could - and the coating didn't seem very flavorful although I followed the recipe exact - but my biggest disappointment was how the batter really absorbed the oil - I had my setting set according to the recipe, the batter just absorbs it apparently.

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2011
This was great! Better than I expected, it had to be the muenster cheese. We all really loved it and I will make this regularly. Followed the recipe exact too, no need for changes.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2011
These were easy, but unfotunately I got HOT wing sauce - I never saw it in HOT for wing sauce until I shopped to make this recipe. I won't do that again. We really like spicy, and we love Frank's - but that HOT wing sauce was max for what we could handle. Next time (and there will be a next time - we love buffalo chicken) I'll use the regular wing sauce :)

Chinese Chicken Salad III

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2011
I love this salad! DH didn't love it as much as me but he did like it. It's really flavorful! The only item I didn't have was the chili paste. I used chili sauce which I am sure isn't very much like the paste but I used it anyway. I will definitely make this again - yum!

Down Home Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2011
Excellent recipe! We all loved it - I think we like this one better from the one I used to make because it uses cheddar in addition to velveeta so the texture was nicer. The only change I made was to use whole wheat flour and whole wheat macaroni. This is my mac & cheese recipe now - yum!

Mini Southwestern Corn Pup Muffins with Fiesta Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2011
I love these! I didn't know what to expect becauce there's another corn bread recipe that I really love that I was tempted to use - but I did follow this recipe exact (well except for using 1/2c whole wheat flour and 1/2c all purpose). These were really tasty - my son and I really loved them. DH not so much but he's never liked corn dogs so that's not really about this recipe. The mini muffin pan I have is apparently really mini lol I got 48 cute little pop-in-your-mouth muffins but we liked the size so I will make this again :)

The Supreme Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2011
This was very good, I never had shepherd's pie with sliced roast beef but I thought it was a great way to use leftover roast beef! My son really liked this too but DH just thought it was pretty good. I had to add a can of corn for a bottom layer, and I'm glad I did. I also sauteed garlic & mushrooms with the onion to mix into the gravy - yum! We'll have this again!

Slow Cooker Pork Cacciatore

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2011
We loved this - the only change I made was to add tomato paste to thicken up the watery sauce - the taste was great, and it's easy to make - definitely a great recipe!

Balsamic Tortellini

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2011
YUM! We really loved this! I love tortellini - and it's easy, another big plus in my opinion :) I had to use prosciutto in place of the pancetta bacon so I don't know how that compares, but we thought it tasted great. We'll have this again. I might like to try adding spinach next time, the flavor would work well with spinach.

Chicken Cordon Azzurro

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2011
We loved this! I used chicken breast that I pounded thin, which can be challenging to roll but we managed :) it was well worth the effort! I was really easy on the red pepper flakes, but we could barely taste it so I'll use more next time. I used regular butter and added my own garlic - most products 'garlic' flavored really bothers my stomach so I prefer to add my own. And I didn't have panko breadcrumbs (never tried them actually) so I used regular breadcrumbs but I plan to try panko eventually :) This is a very tasty recipe, we all really loved it and we will have this again! Thank you Alex for sharing your recipe!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2011
Very yummy! The only change I made was to use 3/4c a/p flour and 3/4c whole wheat flour. These are a nice change from banana bread to use up over-ripe bananas.

Orzo with Tomatoes, Basil, and Gorgonzola

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2011
This was excellent, I really loved it! I made this today without planning ahead, so all I had was feta, which many commented on using, and that's all I had, but I loved it with feta!! All else the same - we all really liked it and we'll have it again!

Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2011
WOW these are super! I only made one change, used 2c a-p flour and 2c whole wheat flour. Everything else I did as written. These are 'special occasion' treats in my opinion, so much butter and sugar but I made this for my son's birthday breakfast, they sure put a smile on his face. They rose so well, I was just so pleased with how great they came out.
