Greek Pasta Salad I

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2013
I am in love with this pasta salad! I didn't add the olives because I forgot to buy some, and I think I added a little more sugar than the recipe called for (I needed to adjust the taste to my liking), I also didn't use elbow macaroni, instead I used organic gemelli. It came out fabulous! I got rave reviews at my son's birthday party. Will definitely be making this again! Thank you.

Mmm-Mmm Better Brownies

Reviewed: May 16, 2012
These were delicious! I did throw in milk chocolate chips. I didn't have an 8x8 pan so I used my Pyrex dish. Baked for 26 minutes, it came out really good. Only problem I had was that it stuck to the dish, but I can't knock down a star because of that :). These went well with ice cream. Yum!

Coconut (Haupia) and Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2012
This was good, only next time I will cut back on the semi-sweet chocolate chips or maybe use milk chocolate. It was too rich for me, and my guests also agreed. Other than that it was good, I would have liked more of the haupia taste though. I also just topped with cool whip and piped it onto the pie and finished with toasted coconut flakes (put coconut flakes in oven for 5 minutes at 350 keep a close eye though it burns quickly).

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2011
Made this as a side to go with pizza night after watching a UFC fight with friends and family...RAVE reviews all night about how it was the best! I prefer letting it sit for about an hour like other reviewers mentioned, but I have made them w/o waiting that long. YUM-O...crispy chicken coated with Franks Red Hot Wings (no need for the butter mix). **to drool for** TIP--When I'm pinched for time, after coating with the seasoned flour I just sprinkle water and keep tossing until it looks sticky...=P Works great w/o the wait! I wonder if this freezes well after coating? Just so it makes for a really quick snack, you know take it out of the freezer and pop in the deep fryer?! Hmmm. I'll have to test that one out!

Supreme Strawberry Topping

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
Yum! Made this for strawberry sundae as desert. My 3 year old loved it. Quick tip for cleaning the strawberry: use a plastic straw (not the really flimsy ones though) and poke the strawberry at the bottom and push through. The stem along with the core of the strawberry should come out easily. :)

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
These are awesome and easy! I followed previous tips and froze the candy, also I waited for the cookie middles to sink before planting the candies. I did however skip the milk (my son drank the last of the milk), but from the taste, it didn't seem to miss it. =0) Thanks a bunch for this recipe!

Butterscotch Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
OMG scrumptious! Perfect as is! Will definitely be making this again, perhaps for Christmas I'll throw in some cinnamon and nutmeg for the Christmas feel. I used dinner rolls because I had a whole bag I bought from Costco, and now I know what I can do without having to waste them again! THANK YOU SO MUCH for this recipe. Best I've ever tasted, never again going to the bakery for bread pudding.

Deer Chop Hurry

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
This was good. My husband and friends enjoyed it served over rice. I did make a tiny change because I didn't have brown sugar, so I used 1/2C granulated sugar and a tbsp of molasses for substitute, I also didn't brown the meat, I just threw everything together in the crock and set it on low for the whole day. It came out great and the aroma that filled the house was "wow". The only complaint I have is that it was a bit too sweet for my liking (though the others seemed to have loved it that way). Maybe I'll cut back on sugar next time. Thank you for this easy and conventional recipe. cheers!

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
Great recipe. Will make again, though I didn't use the green chiles (unfortunately my husband got the wrong thing), it still came out quite tasty. I went out of town for the weekend and dh had some friends over, and they literally scarfed down all the left overs and said it was AMAZING. They even begged him to ask for the recipe.

Feather-Light Biscuits

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
This was wonderful, though I did use all butter (didn't have shortening). I froze half of the biscuits (unbaked), and boy did they come out as fresh as they did when I first made them. Thank you for an easy, yet delish biscuit recipe!

Healing Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
WOW! This was yummy. Dh was leery w/ the idea of eating "cabbage soup" for supper...but when it came to eating, he was one happy man, and a new soup lover. I made a few changes, only to satisfy my liking. I added portuguese sausage (or if you can't get these maybe kielbasa?) in to the mix, and used 3 cans chicken broth or 1 32oz boxed broth instead of boullian cubes, and I also added onion powder, and used garlic salt in place of regular salt...served with rice, OH what a dish!! Definitely making again.

YUM!!! Original recipe is good, but I made it a second time and I followed a suggestion from others and added nutmeg to my topping, and it was out of this world, it just gave it that extra umph! I had guests over and boy they ate it up right out of the oven...Talk about Rave reviews!! Thank you.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
This is so yummy, and they came out huge...They're easy to make, and basically all the ingredients I have on hand. The only change I made was I used 1 cup semi sweet chips, and 1 cup milk choc chips...oh and I did have to bake cookies a bit longer too!

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
OMG...Awesome! I added bacon and used the drippings to sautee the vegies before boiling with clam juice. I also used 2 cans minced clams, and 2 cans chopped clams, and reserved the juice in place of water for boiling (I also added another bottle of clam juice). I didn't have enough hal&half, so I used 2 cups half&half, and 2 cups milk and mixed about 2 tbsp cornstarch w/ the flour. I served with tuna sandwiches. Other than those alterations I followed the recipe (sorry I always alter recipes) but YUM! Thank you!!!

Mom's Warm Milk

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2008
Mmmm...YUmm! I normally don't drink milk, unless I'm eating cereal or having a milkshake...but this is really good! Definitely a keeper, but next time I'll cut back on the sugar...was a wee bit to sweet for my tooth. Oh and it did help me sleep, I normally don't go to bed till 1am or so, but I hit the sheets a little after drinking this milk. So relaxing. Thank you!!!

Hubby loved it, so I made it again for his lunch a few days after, only this time I made it as popcorn chicken...=) Now when he asks "what's for dinner?" and I say "fried chicken" I get a "OoOOooh" reply...and I've never made him say that before about fried chicken...THANK YOU for this recipe!
