I've always been a compass that never pointed true north until I realized that cooking was what I loved and wanted to do full-time. After I got out of the Navy(not the best cooks on Earth ^_^), I decided to attend the Culinary Institute in Austi, Texas. I'm just saving enough money to move down there. I work at a great restaurant right now, running their kitchen but I'm only truly happy when I'm cooking.
My favorite things to cook
I love sauces, marinades, and switching up people's perceptions of how something should taste. I love making burgers with wasabi or cinnamon; spinach, artichoke, and broccoli quesadillas; things that shift your paradigm with a busted clutch. ^_^
My favorite family cooking traditions
Italian, Eastern Europe, macaroni and cheese, Grilling. My mom raised me, basically, and she made a big deal out of cooking all the time to the point where restaurants were unheard of.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking for my mom, using my own recipes, and having her love them.
My cooking tragedies
Whenever I add just a little bit too much spice. I LOOOVE spicy, but wasabi doesn't go in EVERYthing.
