Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2007
This recipe turned out fantastic. I'm a big fan of pine nuts (pignolias) and used them instead. What a fantastic flavor! One taste-tester said it looked and tasted like a pie from a professional bakery.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2006
This is a wonderful recipe. These cookies don't last the week (and I'm talking about a double-batch)! They are really good with the chocolate chips but they are also really good without them!

Cream of Mushroom Soup I

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
This was very easy and very tastey! Do be careful when blending hot liquid. I had a nice mushroom shower when the heat made the top pop off. I was using the vent to keep it from building up pressure but I looked away at the tv and the top sealed up and POP. So be careful. Very creamy and yummy recipe.

Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crunch Coating

Excellent recipe for someone who doesn't like salmon. The pecans carmelized perfectly. My family enjoyed it.

Penuche Sugar Fudge

Just like Grandma used to make. Amazing flavor! I used evaporated milk like my Grams instead of cream. The family was elated to taste this delicious fudge again. Perfect Penuche!

Granny Kat's Pumpkin Roll

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2005
This made one delicious pumpkin roll. I was surprised at how easy it was to make. A friend of mine suggested using parchment paper (NOT WAXED PAPER) rather than the damp towel to roll the cake. I will try it next time. I used a 10.5 x 15 inch cookie sheet and the thickness was just right. I cut the finished rolls in half before wrapping them. I sold them for $5 each at a craft fair and sold out within the first half-hour. The customer who bought four thought they were the perfect size for gifting.

Divinity

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2005
The resulting candy tastes fabulously light, fluffy, and creamy; however, it is a labor-intensive candy. I must have whipped it for nearly 20 minutes before it was thick enough to stand alone. It's true what other reviewers said..."if you can't tell that it's lost its gloss, it hasn't." Thank God for my Puck! The mixture is very sticky and difficult to "drop" in a consistant measurement. I placed the finished divinity in foil cups and they looked beautiful. This recipe worked the first time.

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2005
This recipe came out perfect. The fudge was not grainy. (I had feared using sugar in the past.) I closely followed the recipe and had no problems whatsoever. The taste is creamy and rich; the texture is firm, yet smooth. Very good fudge recipe. This many people can't be wrong!

Microwave Oven Peanut Brittle

Hokey smokes this was easy! I used pine nuts instead of peanuts and got nothing but positive reviews from all tasters. My only suggestion is WORK FAST because it gets sticky real quick.

Great recipe. Very peanut-buttery! I required a little more chocolate than the recipe stated but I also made the balls smaller than suggested. A+

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2004
These cookies are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. This is a great recipe. I used pine nuts because it's a Santa Fe, NM tradition and they were a sell-out at my last craft show. A+

Delicious! My only modification would be to strain the milk/egg mixture through cheesecloth for a creamier texture. Otherswise, this is a fantastic recipe! Thank you!

Peppermint Brittle

This is a great recipe. I made the mistake of adding peppermint extract for more flavor like some of the suggestions, but it ruined this recipe. I will stick to this recipe without changes!

Mexican Wedding Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2003
I use a variation of this recipe and it is fabulous! I add all the listed ingredients together including the coconut and nuts, minus the milk. Bake for 40 minutes until carmelized/browning on top. Cool. Mix 2 cups powdered sugar with one 8oz package of cream cheese and frost. It's a huge family favorite.
