Apple Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2006
Fantastic! This was my first apple pie. I didn't realize it would be so easy to make. I added 2 tablespoons of flour & a bit of nutmeg to the cinnamon/sugar mixture. I also added chopped walnuts 'cause I like crunchy. I took the pie to my group bible study and everyone absolutely loved it. Will make it again and again.

Fruited Curry Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2006
I can't believe how good this salad is. When I read the ingredients, I was a little skeptical. But all the positive reviews won me over and I made it for dinner today. It is fabulous! I'll make again and again and again. Delicious!

White Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2006
These are delicious, but they're a bit too sweet for me. Next time I'll make with less sugar. I added 2 tsp of cinnamon sugar (was out of cinnamon) which added a nice hint of the flavor to the cookies.

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
Delicious! I took the advice of a previous poster and used eggbeaters & low fat feta cheese & made mini quiches in muffin tins. I also added 3 cloves of minced garlic and turkey bacon to mine. They made a mess of my muffin tins though, even though I sprayed them with Pam; maybe next time I'll try using muffin liners.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2013
I like this recipe. Very quick & easy. My only changes were that I used garlic paste instead of salt, added a bit of chicken stock to cut the tartness of the vinegar and added a little brown sugar. I'll definitely make again. Perhaps I'll invest in a better quality balsamic vinegar and I'll chunk my chicken.

Sweet Potato Pie II

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2007
This is the first time I've made a sweet potato pie. I wanted to see how I'd do on my own without asking my Mom how to do it. It's very, very good. But my Mom's pie still tops it. I was actually trying to make 2 pies, but came up a bit short on mashed potatoes. And although I didn't increase the ingredients to accomodate the extra potatoes, it still tastes great (not too sweet). It's so good I'm going to make it for Thanksgiving this year.

New Red Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2006
This is a great recipe. I made it pretty much as is, but I did take some of the suggestions in other reviews and added a little dry mustard and some bacon bits. I also added a little Cajun seasoning to add some zip. I'm taking it to a cookout tomorrow -- can't wait to hear the compliments. Thanks for the recipe!

Amazing Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2006
Great chicken. Very easy to make and quick. I added some garlic powder & herb chicken seasoning to my bread crumbs (I used crushed seasoned croutons) and added paprika and butter spray on top of chicken before cooking. It had a great flavor. I'll make this again.

Cold Vegetable Pizza

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2006
Very good recipe and very easy to make. I used the following: green onion, cucumbers, shredded carrots, red bell pepper, broccoli florets, & olives. I also made w/2 pkgs of cream cheese & about 2 tablespoons of mayo; then I added a variety of different spices rather than dill.

Awesome Roast Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2007
Oh my! This was delicious, but I made it Tryittonight's way, adding potatoes, onions, carrots, & celery; cream of mushroom soup/onion soup mix; sliced onions on top. I also cut slits in the meat for whole garlic cloves. So tender and the best flavor! Yum, yum, yum!

Boudreaux's Zydeco Stomp Gumbo

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2008
This gumbo did not taste the way I expected, so initially I was a little disappointed. But the more I ate (and there was a lot to eat), I began to appreciate the rich hearty flavor. Great comfort food. And the pepper gave it a really nice kick. If I make it again, however, I may try it without the beer and use a seafood stock instead.

Orange Smoothie

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2006
This is good. Next time I'll make it with skim milk (I bought 2% by mistake) & less sugar. It'll be a great low-cal substitute on those days when I have a taste for ice cream.
