Moist, Tender Spice Cake: Gingerbread Variation

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2011
1st-This is not a recipe I would make for myself, as I didn't like the outcome. 2nd - This recipe is for some of my elder friends from down south (the poor south) and they absolutely love it! I made changes to the amount of ginger I used. Other than that no changes. As I stated, My Elder Friends Love It!

Tiny Pecan Tarts

These were really great! The crust is fabulous! I did cut down on the sugar as a preference. However, those who had the privilege of getting some of these, absolutely loved them. Thanks again.

Chococonut Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
This cookie is really good. My husband (who doesn't like coconut) likes this cookie. One tip: When measuring the coconut, measure as you would brown sugar, firmly packed. Then you won't have to worry about adding more coconut, unless you want to. I was asked to make these cookies for an associates family reunion, and this family is a family of cooks. Thanks for the recipe.

Vanilla Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2008
I think that this is a good basic no egg recipe. You can use different types of milk (as I did), different flavors (as I did) and alter the cornstarch to get the preferred consistency desired (however, I wouldn't use more cornstarch because you will start to taste it). Thank you, I needed a nice no egg recipe for pudding.

Chinese Restaurant Almond Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2007
I was looking for the chinese almond cookie recipe for my 11 yr old daughter(she loves those cookies). I followed the recipe per the directions, even using the lard. I was very skeptical about these, but alas, I really enjoyed them. And my children, especially the 11 yr old, loved them (as well as my 5 yr old nephew, who kept asking, "Auntie can I get another cookie", Over and Over again. I had some pop up guest and they really enjoyed these cookies. One even took some home. I will try the butter/shortening combo to see if it will also be a hit. Thanks, for the recipe.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies III

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2006
O.K. I'm usually not of fan of peanut butter cookies, period. I make a peanut butter cookie that people just love, but it doesn't tickle my fancy. All this to say, This cookie tickled my fancy. Wonderfully, soft and moist cookie with a great aroma & delicious taste. This cookie is getting made for my Grandma next week and I know she's gonna love it. Will update soon! Thanks again. 2nd review: this cookie is always requested by everyone and people tend to think that they're taking a step in the healthy direction because of the oatmeal. Note: These are wonderful with or without the filling. Mix in some mini morsels when serving without the filling.

Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread

This are a true favorite amongst my people. From 1 year old to 89 years old. The key is to whip the heck out of the butter before proceeding with the other ingredients. Already have made numerous times. This is truly a keeper.

Caramel Frosting V

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2006
First, I would like to say phenomenal flavor! Second, great flavor! Third, it takes forever for the lighter, fluffier frosting (like a decade) but it is well worth the wait. I did this frosting twice and didn't let it completely cool, so it was more like a glaze. I read other reviews and new that I had to be really patient. All in all great flavor and texture.

Rolled Fondant

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2006
I really, really like this recipe. My children helped and simple didn't won't to stop working with it. My daughter said, "This is clay I would like to play with and eat." We flavored it with banana flavoring and the smell was awesome. I wish I was able to download a picture of what we've just done. We're all fist timers for scratch fondant. Thanks a bunch!
