Slow Cooker Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
This Recipe was fantastic. I put the crockpot on high and it was done in just over 2 hours. It was a great first time crock pot experience. I brined 4 chicken breast and left 2 plain, then pounded them out flat and seasoned them and then rolled them up with the ham and cheese. I followed the recipe from there on. The 4 breast that was brined was extremly great and the other 2 were just not worth bragging about. Definitly will be making this again.

German Red Cabbage

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2010
This is the first time I have made German red cabbage but, it won't be my last. Absolutely wonderful. I fixed it with a Jagerschnitzel, my recipe, and a Hot German Potato Salad, my recipe, and got rave reviews! Thanks for sharing. I change 2 teaspoons of cornstarch to 2 tablespoons. This is THE BEST recipe ever! It does not need any other adjustments. I didn't have cheesecloth so I just added all the ingredients in a coffee filter and tied it together and it worked great. Very authentic and delicious. Our German friends bragged on the whole dinner and had to have the recipe. My Jagerschnitzel recipe is different than any I’ve found on here but they all come close.

Jenny's Grilled Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
I made this for the first time tonight. I let the chicken breast marinade for about one hour and then grilled over charcoal. Served with twice baked potatoes and green beans. I will be making this again. Thanks Jenny.

World's Best Cookie

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
The name speaks for it's self. I cut the butter and the oil to 3/4 cup each and found out that by adding a tablespoon or two of milk the batter came together much better. Will make more of these.Definitely a five star plus cookie.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
Totally AWESOME!!! I followed the recomendnations by MomSavedbyGrace and this was wow,oh wow.I cut the salt in half and used onion power in place of onion salt and used two bay leaves. I also used white pepper for a great boost. I used a arm shoulder roast as it was real lean and no fat. Had to cook longer but it was well worth it. I put sliced peperoncini peppers and roasted red peppers and then 2 slices of provolone cheese and then under the broiler. My oh my was this the best ever. Better then any french dip that I have tried. My wife said I had to make her one more for dinner which is very unusual for her.

Rhubarb and Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
After reading all the reviews, I just had to make another rhubarb-strawberry pie. I have allways cooked the rhubarb as thats how my aunt taught me back in the 50's. We had a large rhubarb patch and we just had plain rhubarb pie but oh so deslious. I made the rhubarb-strawberry pie as given. I didn't like it as to the flour taste and runny. I made another pie yesterday and I changed it to 1 1/4 cups sugar, 3 tbls of cornstarch dissolved in a 1/4 cup plus 2 tbls of water. 3 cups of sliced strawberrys, 3 cups of sliced rhubarb and 1 cup of blueberries. I put the rhubarb in a pot, added the sugar and cornstarch mixture and brought to a low boil, reduce the heat and simmered until it thicken constantly stirring. I then removed it from the heat and added strawberries and blueberries and stired and let set for 30 minute and then poured in a 9" pie crust. I scattered small drops of butter over the top of the filling and then I shook a few shakers of ground cinnamon and put the top crust on. I then baked it for 45 minutes at 375*. My wife made a lemon pie and needless to say all the guest requested the rhubarb-strawberry-blueberry pie. I was a proud baker after all the very postive comments. They all wanted my recipe. Larry
