Baked Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2015
While this was okay, it is in no way shape or form a pancake. Made it for the grandsons and they said..."It was okay Papa, but I thought you said we were having pancakes. Lesson here is, make it, but call it something else. As for me...haul out the griddle and start flippin'.

Mushrooms Berkeley

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2015
Being of Czech, actually Bohemian, descent I grew up with mushrooms of all sorts. Pickled, sauted, dried, raw, deep fried puff balls, you name it, we ate it. Heck we even put them on ice cream! Just kidding. This recipe is great. Never did the brown sugar thing before, but love the sweetness. If it's too sweet cut it down or out. Whatever trips your palate. Enjoy!

Popcorn Shrimp

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2014
Great stuff! I substituted Panko for the bread crumbs. Gives it a wonderful crunch. Also put them on a wire rack with paper towels under it. That way they stay nice and crunchy.

Easy BBQ Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2014
Gave this 4 stars for easy. I didn't mess with the honey BBQ sauce, butg grabbed the bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's Honey BBQ Sauce. Good and easy.

Spicy PBJ Wings

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2014
Sauce is good, but I used my deep fryer. A lot less fooling around than trying to "fake" the deep fried texture and taste. Also did this with drumsticks. Excellent. Way more meat and CHEAPER!

Boiled Potatoes with Chives

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2014
This is just good old fashioned in your own kitchen cooking. It proves simple is best. Others suggested adding garlic, rosemary and so on. I say...knock yourself out! Whatever trips your trigger. Enjoy!

Unbelievable Grilled Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2014
Horrible. Too soggy because of the mayo and half and half.

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2014
Was very good. I used Oscar Meyer real bacon bits and eliminated the frying of the bacon and smelling up the house. Also thought I had sunflower seeds but didn't. But the cashews I had on hand were a wonderful substitute.

Caprese Salad with Balsamic Reduction

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2014
I used to do a similar recipe and just drizzle balsamic vinegar over the tomatoes, basil and cheese. This is way...way better! Thanks for sharing this.

Grilled Tequila-Lime Shrimp

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2014
Only thing this recipe left out is that while you're grilling...pour some of that tequila for yourself!

Pickled Grilled Vegetables

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2014
Okay at best. Grilling is an unnecessary step and softens the cukes. No crunch. My fridge pickle recipe is where I think this recipe would like to be. Also, Kosher salt in canning results in cloudy brine which is unappealing.

Kim's Summer Cucumber Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2014
This is an excellent summer salad. Just two little things... 1. Use a mandolin to cut the cukes nice and thin. (Watch the finger tips!) 2. If at all possible use fresh, not dried dill. I think fresh really adds.

Blueberry Egg and Cheese Bagel

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2013
Personally I like using the "everything" bagel and swiss cheese. But that's just my personal taste. This is good, but face it folks it's a Mickey Dees Egg McMuffin on a bagel!

Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2012
This is okay, but just for fun I made it two ways. The first way is according to the recipe. The second way was with commerically prepared precooked cubed chicken and Paul Newman's Own Alfredo. Truth be told...the Alfredo was better which made the whole dish better not to mention faster. Just an experiment for what it's worth.

If you can't deep fry them...why bother? Just kidding. These are really pretty good and easy to make.

Slow Cooker Tomato Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2012
This is pretty good if you like a spicier sauce, and of course if you don't...adjust it. No big deal. The reason I gave it only 3 stars was that it invests an awful lot of cooking time and electicity for what is a little better than average sauce.
