Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
This was a good recipe, but I did double the golden mushroom soup, added a cup of onions and also added fresh mushrooms. After I added the cream cheese, it was really bland. I then added 4 oz of sour cream and it really helped. In my opinion the cream cheese makes it creamy, but does nothing for the flavor and adding sour cream is a must otherwise to me it was bland. My husband really liked it which is great. I thought it was just fine or okay.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
These were amazing! My first time making ginger molasses cookies and I couldn't have been happier with them. My husband loves them. I also substituted orange juice for the water and chilled the dough before making the balls. I also sprinkled them with red sugar for Christmas cheer. Excellent! Thank you!!

Jennie's Heavenly Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2010
This was pretty good, but the one thing I thought was strange was adding the golden mushroom soup, which has beef stock. I think a better alternative would be regular cream of mushroom soup. I think the mix of flavors for me, just wasn't great. I have made a similar recipe using regular mushroom soup, cream of celery soup, wine, dried onions and cheddar cheese, which has a much better flavor (to me). Anyway, its always good to try something new. Thanks for the recipe.

Apple Squares

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
I doubled the recipe and baked in a 9 x 13 pan for 32 minutes. When I tasted them I thought they were very good. When my husband and his friend found them yesterday they devoured pretty much the whole thing!! The key is using a flavorful apple. I am now making my second batch in two days for our Sunday football party. Thank you for the great recipe!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2010
Seriously, this was truly amazing! I've never made pulled pork before and I really had doubts even will all the great reviews. I could not find tenderloin so I bought a 3 1/2 lbs boneless pork shoulder. I also didn't have time to cook it long, so I cooked it on high for 4 1/2 hours. The only thing different is I added some garlic powder to the meat before I poured the root beer over it. It was sooooo tender!!! My husband loved it. I will be making this for our football sunday parties FOR SURE! Thank you so much for the recipe!!!

Banana Cake V

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2010
This is an excellent recipe as is. My own personal tweaks are that I use 3/4 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup white sugar, double the vanilla and use 3-4 bananas. LOVE IT.

Graham Cracker Crust I

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
So easy and delicious. Does not even compare to store bought! hint--combine graham crackers and sugar before you add the butter. The first time I made it I added everything all at once, and it didn't combine as well. I used one paper pkg of graham crackers and it was just right.

Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts III

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
I've made these a number of times and people LOVE them! I've started using Oscar Meyer Center cut bacon and the size, when cut in half is absolutely perfect and makes rolling the chestnuts much easier. I also agree with others that have posted that you really need to bake these longer initially than the recipe calls for. I bake my 25 - 30 minutes drain, add the sauce and bake for another 30 minutes. Excellent recipe!

Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
These were excellent. They only reason I don't give a 5 star is because while the frosting was really good, I didn't think there was enough for the whole pan--it just make a very thin layer. I like LOTS of frosting. I ended up making another half batch of frosting. Next time I will just double the amount of frosting. But this recipe is really good--and EASY! THANK YOU!

This was easy and very good. I also added an extra tablespoon of butter and upped the vanilla to 1tsp., simply because I love vanilla and I do this to all my recipes! Thank you!

Apple Dumpling Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
This was really good. I didn't know what to expect but was happy with it. My husband doesn't like apple crisp, so I thought I would try it. Well he loved it!! It was really easy and I used 1/2 oil and 1/2 butter and added a little vanilla to the batter. I also put cinnamon and sugar on the apples. I mistakenly also added cinnamon to the batter instead of on top. It was still good though. Next time I will use macintosh as the apples I had were kind of bland.

Simple Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
This was excellent!! I've never made a good pasta salad until now. I didn't have any green onions so I used red oniona. I also added little squares of cut up sharp cheddar cheese. Perfect--very refreshing! Just what I was looking for!

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
I must be the worlds worst cook according to the other reviews. I thought this would be fail-proof! I followed the directions exactly. I was underwhelmed and disappointed. It was very salty and the meat did not "fall off the bone," like others said. I've had better luck with just cooking it in a bag....sorry!!! It must be something I did wrong.

Meringue II

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
I dunno what I did wrong!! I followed the directions exactly. The pie looked so pretty when I put the meringue on and browned it, but by the next day, the meringue shrank and was full of beads. I thought this recipe was supposed to prevent that.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
This was the best apple pie!! However, I was confused because when I added the flour to the butter, it didn't make a paste...I also must have simmered it too long, because it got very very thick, so I ended up mixing the sauce with the apples and then putting the top on. I took the advice of others and added 1 tbl of vanilla and 1 tsp of cinnamon and a dash of nutmeg--it was awesome! I think I will try to cut down on the butter next time and not simmer so long. I used store bought crust and brushed it with milk and sprinkled it with sugar. My husband said it was the best apple pie he ever had!!! THANK YOU!!

Taco Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2008
I made this recipe for football night for my family and everyone raved about it! Even my husband who is really picky and doesn't normally like mexican food loved it. The only different thing I did was added a half can of diced tomatoes. I might add a whole can next time. I also took the suggestion of baking the casserole for 15 minutes, then putting the cheese on top with some crushed doritos and baking another 15 minutes. Awesome recipe. Thank you!!
