Chicken with Tomato, Orange and Rosemary Couscous

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2003
Pretty good. The flavoured couscous this recipe calls for is unavailable here, so I ccoked one clovee of garlic in about 1.5 tbsp. of olive oil before I added the white wine and water.

Spinach and Mushroom Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2005
Very yummy and very easy. The most time consuming bit was removing the stems from the spinach. The next time I make it I might not bother. I didn't have any cider vinegar, so I used regular white vinegar, and I loved it. Next time I probably won't add any salt to the dressing as the bacon contains enough by itself.

Allie's Mushroom Pizza

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2005
Pretty good. Next time I'll add some garlic as others have suggested, and some ground black pepper. Maybe some basil and oregano too. It makes WAY too much oil - 1/3 would be more than enough!!

Pan Sauce Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2003
It was good, but perhaps needed something more. I'll make it again and experiment. To solve the problem of the clumping flour, I added 1/3 of a cup of the hot broth to the flour mixture before adding it to the rest of the broth. Worked wonders - I had no problems.

Feta Chicken

Reviewed: May 30, 2007
OMG this is so good!!!!! I made a couple of changes, but only because I didn't have exactly what was called for. I used plain feta, and just mixed in some chopped fresh basil, and some chopped sundried tomatoes. I also didn't have Italian-style bread crumbs, so I used plain and added a sprikle of each of the following: garlic powder, thyme, basil, oregano and parsley. I couldn't be bothered to pound out the chicken - I just made a slit in the middle, added the filling, and used toothpicks to pin the edges together before dipping in egg and then the bread crumb mixture.

Russian Mushroom and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2006
Very Easy and Very Yummy!!!! I followed some of the tips from others - used sour cream instead of The half and half, and I pureed half of the soup to make it creamier. I also cooked the mushrooms first in the pot, then set them aside while the soup cooked - saved a little on clean up. Why clean two heavy pans when you can get by with one and a small bowl??

Whole Wheat and Honey Pizza Dough

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2006
Really good and really easy. I find it makes enough for two pizzas, so I freeze half the dough.

Lower Fat Banana Bread I

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2003
Mmmm, so Good!!!! Really simple to make. I usually add more bananas than called for - probably about 3 bananas worth. Excellent when warm with peanut butter. My favorite breakfast treat.

African Sweet Potato and Peanut Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2007
I'm SSOOO dissapointed with this recipe. It smelled heavenly while is was cooking - the aromas from the spices were incredible. Unfortunatly, the smells didn't translate to the taste, and now I'm left with a big pot of soup that I'm no too excited to have to eat.

Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2007
This is really good and very simple. I followed anothers suggestion to cut the sugar to 1 1/2 cups, and it was just right. Instead of boiling the sugar and water in the saucepan, I added 1 cup of boiling water to the sugar and stired. The sugar dissolved easily.

Basil Cheddar Scones

Not the greatest. I would suggest ussing more cheddar and more pesto. I couldn't even taste the flavours. I doubt I'll make these again.

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2003
Wow!!! This recipe was incredible!!!! So incredibly simple, and tastes wonderfull. I didn't use the garlic salt, as I thought there would be enough salt with the soy sauce, and the garlic clove had enough flavour by itself. Next time I'll try baking it in foil to reduce clean up - unbelievably making this recipe even simpler!

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2003
This recipe was OK. I found the sauce a little strong. I'll make it again, but maybe use less mustard.

Omelet in a Bag

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
This sounded a little odd to me when I first saw it, but I'm so glad that I gave it a shot!!! This is the easiest recipe, and the results are wonderful. I used a coffee mug to hold open the bag as some others had suggested, used three egg whites instead of the two whole eggs, and then just threw in what I had in the fridge which included: some baby tomatoes, one clove crushed garlic, red pepper, some broccoli, a sprinkle of dried oregano, and a little parmesan cheese. When it was cooked, I spread some Salsa on a whole wheat wrap, and rolled the omelet up in it. Yum ;o)

Fettuccine with Sweet Pepper-Cayenne Sauce

I was kind of dissapointed with this recipe. I didn't hink it had enough spice. I may make it again, but add some grilled chicken strips, and a littl more cayenne

Sweet Potato Gnocchi

Reviewed: May 3, 2007
Oh Yum! These are so good!! I followed the recipe except I used 1 cup white flour, and one cup whole wheat. I followed the suggestion of another cook, and used an icing bag to squeeze out the dough. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is it's a little more time consuming than i thought it would be.

Albondigas

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2007
Yummy, and pretty easy too!! I added one leek as I needed to use it up and also added a can of corn as another person suggested. I didn't have seasoned breadcrumbs, so I added some parmesan cheese, and a sprinkle each of parsley, thyme, basil and garlic powder.
