I am a recently divorced single mom. I love cooking. I cook lots of different things and do some baking. I've been cooking for years and I 'm still learning, lol. Always interested in new things.
My favorite things to cook
Pretty much anything except seafood and pies, haven't had much experience with them.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I remember when I was little my mom have me and my sisters help her bake cookies and cake. We always enjoyed it and had lots of fun. I now enjoy sharing those kind of experiences with my son.
My cooking triumphs
No real triumphs just happy when I make something that everyone enjoys.
My cooking tragedies
Pies and seafood still don't have much experience with them even after all these years *sigh*.

Simple Pesto Pasta
Loved it! I make my own pesto and it was great in this recipe. I used a little extra butter and a little extra garlic Yum yum.

Cinnamon-Apple Chex(R) Mix
I love this recipe but I like to make a few changes. First instead of almonds I use dry honey roasted peanuts, second I use regular raisins instead of yogurt covered raisins. I love the changes gives it that added touch.

Mom's Zucchini Bread
Very yummy! I made a couple changes. I put in 1 cup brown sugar and 1 1/4 cups white sugar( thus equaling the 2 1/4 cups of white sugar the recipe called for). Also i sprinkled in the bottom of the bread pan cinnamon and sugar (after I had sprayed the bottom). It added such wonderful flavor and depth to the recipe. Also if you add in the brown sugar your bread will come out looking darker then you will see in the pictures. But it tastes so much better then just using only white sugar, it adds more depth and flavor. I will definitly be making this again.
