Avon's End of Summer Sunday Morning Peach Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2011
Excellent recipe. I made muffins instead of a cake and it only took 35 minutes at the same temp. I didn't have quite enough melted butter so I added canola oil to make up the rest of the 1/4 cup called for. I added an additional ripe banana and also substituted store bought vanilla whipped frosting since it was in my cupboard. A slice of fresh peach on each one made it even more delicious!

Byrdhouse Mushroom Barley Pilaf

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
Fantastic! I did not have any cooking sherry on hand so I substituted 1/4 cup red wine vinegar and 1/4 cup ginger-ale. Also added boneless, skinless chicken thighs in the last 20 minutes. This is truly a keeper!

Spaghetti Squash I

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
Excellent! My 3 year old ate it and my husband said "spaghetti squash is better than I remembered it" I took the advice of others and added 1 1/2 c water when baking and turned out perfect. Used EVOO instead of vegetable oil, omitted olives and sauted broccoli instead for color.

Cheryl's Spinach Cheesy Pasta Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2008
Very good and easy! I modified by replacing much of the oil with milk, as recommended by other reviewers. I also only had one jar of pasta sauce, but had a half jar of alfredo sauce so used that for the top layer. Fantastic, and my 3-year old didn't even pick out the spinach!

Slow Cooker Thai Pork with Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2008
Great recipe... took others advice and used a combination of fish sauce and low sodium soya sauce to replace the teriyaki, added 2 T sesame oil, lime juice and a chili paste instead of the flakes. Delicious and my toddler asked for seconds!

Awesome Honey Pecan Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
An excellent quick recipe! I took others' advice and doubled the butter and fried some onions. I then added the key ingredient - about a Tablespoon of fresh chopped dill I kept the rest the same! Wonderful

Garlic Pasta with Prawns

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
This was so easy and so good. I took some of the other reviewers advice and reduced the olive oil to 4 Tbsp. I also thought it needed some color so I added sliced green peppers at the same time as the prawns.

Cornmeal Bacon Waffles with Cheese Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2007
Pretty good, but the cornmeal gives it a different texture. Liked the bacon pieces with in the waffle and precooked it in the microwave to give it a crunch. Did not add the cheese sauce but my husband liked it with syrup.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2007
I made some minor changes to the this recipe and was quite pleased with how they turned out. I increased the peanut butter to 1/2 a cup, substituted sugar for equal amount of SPLENDA sweetener and omitted the water altogether. This made for a lighter textured cookie and a lower calorie option! Very good cookie.

Very very VERY good. I made sure to use young zucchini and also made sure to use turkey sausage for less calories. My family loved it!

Banana Butter Icing

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2006
Really good and not too sweet. I did take the advice of others and added a twist of my own. Pureed one banana in the food processor, used 1/2 c of butter instead of 1/4 c., used only 2 c. of icing sugar and the twist was 1/3 cup of cocoa powder. YUMMY! Used this icing on a dark chocolate cake. It was divine!

Veal Chop with Portabello Mushrooms

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2006
It was delicious. I added an asian flavoured chicken broth instead of plain and this added some depth to the flavours! I will definitely make again.
