Chicken and Bowtie Pasta with Asiago Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2007
I sauteed the chicken in olive oil and used low fat half n' half instead of the heavy cream. It needed salt, pepper and a whole lot more of the asiago.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2007
I used boneless skinless thighs and they cooked in 30 minutes at 450 degrees. I substituted brown sugar for the white and rice wine vinegar for the cider vinegar. I also added a teaspoon of sesame oil to the marinade for flavor. This was delicious and I highly recommend it.

Nanny's Goulash

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2007
I made this with ground chicken and added garlic powder. It was very good served with buttered egg noodles.

Mother's Applesauce Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2007
At first I thought that there would be too much allspice and cinnamon -- one tablespoon of each sounded like an awful lot -- but it was just perfect. I used chunky applesauce and the muffins were so moist and delicious.

Leg of Lamb

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2007
I don't care for lamb but everyone in my family loves it. I never made a leg of lamb before but decided to try it because it seems that I am always making the same dishes over and over. The lamb was a big hit in our house and I'll probably make it again.

Home Style Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2007
My family didn't care for this recipe. I didn't have enough regular cheddar so I added a little Mexican flavored cheddar. I'm not sure if this had anything to do with it. I also used crushed butter crackers instead of breadcrumbs. I won't be making this again.

Sylvia's Ribs

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2007
I would rarely make ribs because they never would come out great and I had tried many different recipes. This recipe was wonderful. The ribs tasted delicious and they were very tender.

Chicken Breasts in Caper Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2007
Trying to cut fat whenever I can, I used fat-free half n' half. I'm not sure if there is corn syrup or some type of sugar in this half n' half, but the sauce tasted a little sweet and I didn't like that. If I try making this again, I will use the whole cream.

Easier Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2007
I also added minced fresh garlic and I took the other reviewers' advice and made additional sauce. I did this by adding 1/2 cup chicken broth and 1/4 cup cream. This was delicious served over rice.

I used half the sour cream called for and half can cream of mushroom soup. I also used a small can of the Durkee fried onions in addition to the buttered crackers. Very very good!!

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2006
I used boneless, skinless chicken thighs and they made the sauce very thin. After baking, I strained the sauce, added cornstarch mixed with water, and microwaved it until thickened. I also added garlic powder and black pepper to the sauce. Everyone enjoyed it.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2006
This recipe is delicious though I made a few changes. I used low fat butter and low fat mayo. I added minced garlic, cayenne pepper and paprika to the butter mixture. I served the fish with tomato bruschetta as a topping.

Famous Chicken Francaise

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2006
I took the advice of some reviewers and dipped the chicken in flour, then egg, then flour again. I only used 1/2 cup chicken broth and I added 1/2 cup white wine and thickened the mixture with cornstarch. I also used bottled lemon juice because I didn't have fresh lemons. Because other reviewers said the chicken was soggy, I only let it simmer for a couple of minutes -- just enough to heat the lemon sauce. This turned out great and I will be making it again.

Chicken Breasts Pierre

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2006
This was very good. I used chicken breasts that were medium thickness so I only let them simmer in the sauce for about 15 minutes. This is a keeper.

RamJam Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2006
This was just okay probably because I broiled it instead of grilling the chicken. However, I have tried other marinades that were much tastier.

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2006
I lowered the fat content by using half of the cheese, turkey bacon instead of regular and I did not brown the chicken in oil. I put it in the oven raw and baked it longer. I also used only half of the honey and I still thought it was too sweet.

Artichoke Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2006
I thought this dish was bland, although everyone else in my family liked it a lot. I also added chicken and black pepper and a whole lot more parmesan than the recipe called for. I will try it again but next time I will add some minced garlic.
